Great afternoon with tour guide Frank, I learned so much about the city, and tasted a bit of history, and we're New Yorkers!

Frankie was informative and entertaining. We walked through several streets. The walk was easy but the evening was hot.

We took the east side food tour and it was great. We stopped at six different historical New York places and tasted wonderful food along the way. Our tour guide Frank was super supplying historical information about the businesses we visited and the neighborhoods we passes through. An added fun thing was spending time with others on the tour from... More

My friends and I went on the Lower East Side Eats Food Tour last week. The tour lasted approximately three hours. Our guide was Matthew. He proved to be very knowledgeable about the area and answered all of our questions. Our tour stopped at seven different places to try different foods. My favorites were The Pickle Guys, Kossar's Bialys, and... More

The tour was fair and since it was a food tour we had expected a good amount of food and variety but at each of the 6 stops we were given minuscule portions of food, not nearly enough to feel that we had had lunch (tour went from 11 AM to about 2 PM). There was only a brief time... More

Hi Bob, Thank you for taking our Lower East Side food tour. We're sorry our food tour didn't satisfy your appetite. We've received hundreds of reviews over the past 5 years and this is the first one saying there wasn't enough food on our LES tour. Most people say it's more than enough food for a hearty lunch. We went... More

Last Saturday we went on the Greenwich Village tour. There were 16 in our tour and it was a manageable size. The tour took about two and half hours and we went to six places. My favorites were: Sweet Revenge-loved the sweet and savory little tarts, Faicco's-loved the rice balls, and Artichoke Pizza(the artichoke pizza was delicious and my favorite... More

I went on the Lower East Side Tour last Sunday and really enjoyed it. It is a GREAT experience for New York food and history. The food was great. The pickles, the meat from Katz's, and the dumplings from North Dumpling were high points. Our guide, Matthew, was funny, sharp, and very well informed! It was a very busy Sunday,... More

Decided to do a food tour of the West Village and can't wait to go back to try out a different neighborhood next time I'm in NYC. Had six stops (exactly what the website stated), excellent tour guide who was full of energy and knowledge, and an interesting history lesson in the West Village neighborhood. DO IT!

We toured the West Village this weekend. This was the most delightful tour - mixing the history of the area with great food stops. Our first stop - Sweet Revenge was over the top fun and delicious - I would have never guessed a savory cupcake could be so good - Thank you Marlo for letting us visit. Our tour... More

We did the Lower East side tour and I was disappointed unfortunately... I do food tours everywhere I go so I set the bar high but I know what a good one should be! The positives: - Knowledgeable guide, forgot his name... - Nice to get some historical knowledge of the area and buildings - Katz's deli The negatives: -... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
