City Running Tours is a team of running enthusiasts that provides an opportunity to experience a city in an exciting way. We connect with like minded people from all over the world because of our passion for running as well as the city we call home. Through this reward, we are able to showcase the history and culture of a city while promoting a healthy lifestyle, instilling self confidence and making people feel like themselves. Ideal for the business traveler who is tired of the hotel treadmill, the marathon runner who is training for a race, or the recreational runner who wants to explore new and interesting routes, City Running Tours offers both guided group and personalized runs to accommodate any athletic ability, style, training regimen or specific landmarks. These runs are personal so it will be the running guide along with the registered clients. We can go further than a walking tour, as far as a bus tour and on the roads that most buses and segways are unable to.At City Running Tours our goal is to shape each tour based on our client's needs both as a runner and a tourist and because of this, they love the intimacy, breadth of knowledge, and the unique and local perspective that our running tours offer. Our clients experience a city at street level through the eyes and legs of someone who works, plays and runs in that city. Share your love of running with us as we share our city with you!

Run Fun in NYC

I would like to recommend City Running Tours especially Catie Liken the best guide. You can choose different places to run and know more and more about the Big Apple.

My husband and I joined the Rockaway Brewing Company running tour. We had a fantastic time. Angie, our guide, was great. She knew lots of information about the area and was really friendly. Of course the beer at the end of the run was delicious! I always love exploring a new city by running, but it isn't easy when you... More

This was our second running tour. We scheduled a private tour of Central Park and our guide was Beth. Beth did a great job. She had a lot of knowledge of the park. We certainly learned a lot and we'd been to Central Park a number of times before. For those that may be intimidated about a running tour, we... More

Beth was great! I am coming back from a surgery but needed to keep on track with a longer run. I enjoyed learning little things about Central Park I didn't even know and having someone to help with my frankly abysmal sense of direction. It was great to talk to another runner and enjoy the beauty of the Park. Checked... More

We were traveling on business/vacation but wanted to maintain our training schedule. We booked a 14 mile early Saturday run and it absolutely exceeded our expectations! Beth met us at our hotel and had a route planned that included the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, Chinatown, the Bowery, Rockefeller Center, NYC Library, Grand Central Station, Times Square, Meatpacking District, The Highline,... We did the brooklyn running tour which started and finished at the brooklyn brewery. Alex was our friendly and informative running guide who guided us around brooklyn. The weather was about 30º C or 90+ freedom units so it was pretty hot and Alex was accommodating to this. The run took us through a few areas of brooklyn and was... More

My sister and I were visiting NYC and decided to try something different this time to see parts of the city we had not in prior trips. Although it was a bit tough getting up at the crack of dawn, the Brooklyn Bridge run and tour were great. We started out near City Hall and ran through the financial district,... More

I did the Lower East side tour, and really enjoyed it. The guide, Beth, made sure we were all at a comfortable pace and stopped frequently to point out the sites and places of interest. The tour is at 7am, so there are not too many people around. It takes around an hour, and I think it was around 4... More

Extremely enjoyable tour. One of my highlights from my vacation. Professional staff in all contact. The guide was very friendly and informative about the area. He even had fun facts stops where he was able to tell you what movie film was filmed where. I was ready to do more than one but this was my last day in the... More

Perfect organized tour with a super friendly guide. He knew a lot about the area we were running. I would recommend this to you if you are looking for a different way to see new York.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
