    Fun!
Really cool. It’s a mix of an ice cream history museum and art museum. Went with family of all ages and everyone had a blast. Definitely pricey but worth the smiles (and free ice cream). The sprinkle pit was definitely the coolest part!

    Fun Experience
Fun Instagram-worthy place. You'll be offered three ice cream treats plus other snacks along the way so don't arrive full. My teenage daughter loved it. Not sure it's worth full price though.

    Great hospitality!
It was a great experience, many delicious flavors and an enjoyable experience. During our walk-through however, my 2 yr old hurt his fingers on the upper floor and the GM (Mr. Sauce) was extremely helpful, accommodating, as was the rest of the staff. They checked in on him periodically and ensured he had a great time and could actually enjoy the rest his birthday there. Which he did! It really was a fun time, but that kindness put it over the top, thank you all! If I could give more stars I would!

We brought our toddler to this museum on a Sunday morning for the 9:30am "tour." Spent the next hour going from room to room surprised to what was next! It was very interactive and of course, many photo opportunities. There weren't many facts and figures, but they were there if you looked hard enough. I saw a map of the different types of ice cream around the world, and right before the large slide, there were some cute facts such as "how much ice cream does the average American eat?"

We were allowed to have as many samples as we wanted, but we kept going to the next exhibit since there were too many people in one given area. Also hard to take pictures with so many people doing the same thing!

My favorite area was the playground with swings, seesaw, and basketball. Mainly because it was the most spread out. The sprinkle pool was the last area, but way, way too crowded. The wait time to get into the sprinkle pool was very unnecessary, since it was so warm and everyone was in line just waiting.

Some tips: DO stroller check. DO coat check. There are stairs and with the crowd, a stroller gets in the way. Coat check is also necessary since it was really warm in some of the rooms. DO enjoy the ice cream. There was a chocolate oreo one that you could eat without a spoon since it had a stretchable consistency to it!

With tickets close to $100 due to service fees, the museum doesn't provide too much value. Moreso for photo ops. Probably would have had a better time later in the day. I thought going when it first opened would be less crowded, but I was wrong!

The concept is really is cool, but the execution is subpar. First, the staff/guides were either unorganized or not present. The entertainment in the first room was super cheesy and at one point it became repetitive and obvious they were stalling. But, we kept an open mind. Next, we entered a Celebration room (once one guide brought us there) and then the host of the party told us to leave “I’m not ready for you yet.” So we literally had to back out of the room after we were already in the room. The subway room was like a maze and the guide disappeared, so we went in the wrong direction. The slide was AMAZING.

Major drawback is that the experience felt underwhelming and not worth the price we paid. Also, if you have allergies or dietary restrictions it’s DEFINITELY not worth the money. We couldn’t eat anything they had, as we are dairy free & vegan. It was very disappointing to be in SOHO which has tons of vegan options, including Van Lewen’s which is only blocks away and offers vegan ice cream options. I think it’s more geared for younger kids (5years old rather than tweens). Not horrible, but not worth the price we paid and not an experience you need to do more than once.

We had fun, but was disappointed . I think of a Museum as a place with history or a learning experience ... this is NOT this place!

It is set up with multiple theme rooms to take pictures and such. There are no displays dealing with the history of Ice Cream, it's discovery or inventors and inventions.

We went for the Date Night, 2/13 (Valentines Weekend) so we were charged the General Admission and the Date Night add-on, a total of about $75/person. What did we get? Other than a small dish of ice cream and drink to share between two people, nothing more than the General Admission people get as far as I could tell.

They schedule times for the visit, which was an hour later for us and then you get to listen to LOUD music as you're walking thru the place.

We expected better! I'm not sure the appeal here, over rated in my opinion!

This was my kids' idea. They found this online when looking for things to do while in NYC. We drove in from quite far ( 3 day drive ). We all were expecting a museum and ice cream treats. I could see the disappointment in them, though they would not express it since they saw how much it costed ($200.00+ for family of 4). They proceeded to be giddy and 'play the part'. This is not a museum by any part of the definition. It is pink and red designs with few games, sprinkle (aka ball) pit, slide, table top tennis, and pink souvenirs for sale. Few stations with ice cream-one small scoop of typical flavors and cotton candy station. I think if this was $5 or 10 dollars with optional tipping and name something besides "museum", it would have been 'ok', but even then, it would be more appropriate for the locals to hang out- not really tourists who are already paying a fortune to come to NYC. I personally try to spend money where the experiences will be worth it. This unfortunately was about $160 at least, over spent. Sorry, but need to be honest here for any other distant travelers. Nonetheless, this is my opinion only. Some people may live for this type of "experience".

I was so excited to go to this place because of the pictures I've seen on Instagram, but I was so disappointed when I actually got there. They did not check for tickets at the entrance and didn't even ask for proof of vaccination cards. They let us into the building in huge groups and all at once. The building is already small and allowing such huge groups to enter and a time was not the best decision due to the spike in COVID cases right now. However, at almost every corner there were staff members sanitising as each group went on.

Although we did get free samples in each part of the tour, I don't think I would spend $50USD for this experience again. They need to work on their protocols and safety measures in general, and probably lower the number of persons allowed each day to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

Let me share a story about my worst experience I had for a long time now...
I went to this so called "museum" with my wife and son expecting to have great time. The place looks cool on the picture and we were super positive about the visit.
Our disappointments started from the beginning when we realized that this place has nothing to do with museum. No story, no history, nothing genuine about the ice cream. Everything is just dyed walls and a lot of plastic stuffs. As a “compliment”, we received tasteless ice cream with no choice for flavors. Then, we were asked to take “the compliment” outside the "museum" under the freezing 20 degrees F. They don’t have heat lamps outside or any kind of protection from the terrible weather.
My son started to get cold and some other kids start to complain too. We stayed less than a minute outside realizing we have to throw the ice creams to the bin in order not to get sick.
On our way back to the “museum” rooms, my wife removed her mask for a second to take a picture. Nobody from the visitors was around at this short moment. Unfortunately, she was noticed by one guy from the personnel and few minutes later we were forced to leave the place from the security.
I asked the manager why is this necessary and I said that we are sorry about the accident. Instead of understanding, he claimed that we were informed at the entrance about the “rule” as follows: if someone of the family/group removes his/her mask, everybody must to leave ?!? Of course I denied. First, because we are rational people and if we knew that "rule" we wouldn’t even think to lose our 130$ paid for tickets. Second, this rule sounds absurd because the responsibility in this country is personal, not collective. My wife admitted her misbehavior, though she was not informed or warned about the “rule”. As a final resort, I asked if it’s possible my wife to wait outside when me and my son do the tour. The manager declined and continued to ask all of us to leave. My son was super frustrated and barely kept his tears. This guy discriminated me and my son because of my wife’s wrong. Meanwhile, he didn’t notice the cough of the employee at the entrance, nor how loose and dirty was his own mask which was dropping below his nose all the time. Unfortunately, this is a place where hypocrisy and double standards prevail over the good faith and care for the customers
I tried to receive full or partial refund because we didn’t visit any of the rooms. This guy rejected everything.
Fortunately, I received my money after a dispute through AmEx.
In conclusion, this place is not museum, it’s a colored playground put in suits. The prizes are overrated for the service you expect to receive. The worst part comes from the discriminatory personnel, who enforces brutal restrictions to the customers, forgetting to obey by its own rules.

The exhibits were cute and fun to take pictures. If you are concerned about social distancing, though, don't visit during the pandemic. Exhibits were very crowded and there were very few staff. None of the staff members cleaned and most of the hand sanitizer containers were empty. People did not adhere to the markers placed on the floor.

The price is incredibly high and several of the rooms/interactive experiences/places to get treats are closed. Going is not worth the price you have to pay. With that said, it was super cute and we had fun taking pictures - all of our pictures had a lot of people in them! I'm hoping we didn't get COVID from this experience.

Quite frankly THE RUDEST staff ever. My family and I were walking past and went to enter, the man put his hand in my face and said “TICKETS?” - I had no clue we needed tickets. Instead of helping us he immediately tended to another family. I explained we had no idea how to do this. He just kept ignoring us. Needless to say - we left. We never return. Especially after finding out tickets were $50 and the ice cream sucked (from people standing around outside)

I was really looking forward to going to the Museum of Ice Cream. I was extremely disappointed by the experience. You learned nothing about ice cream, it was extremely crowded with kids running around everywhere. I expected there to be a lot of kids but it was seriously a free for all. The employees weren’t guiding anyone through the exhibit to limit the number of people in each room. The sprinkle pool smelled horrible. I am so disappointed that I wasted $100 on two tickets to this “museum” that wasn’t anything of the sort.

After reading the positive reviews here of a such an interactive experience i took my 12 yr old ice cream loving son to the museum. It was 2.00 in the afternoon but it was ticket only admission. I was directed by staff to the machine where i could purchase tickets. The machine told me that the next available slot to purchase was at 7.30 pm that evening. I asked the attendant if i would have to wait until 7.30 and she told me to ignore that and we would just be left in once payment had been processed. The experience was disappointing. For myself and my son it cost close to 80 dollars. The first experience was a room that was serving chocolate shake flavoured ice cream in a cocktail bar setting. The staff were under severe pressure and could not cope with demand. They had to stop serving as the dishwasher could not keep up to speed with the amounts needed to serve the numbers present in the room. There was another staff member singing into a microphone. It felt like she was stalling time to allow the next room to empty before we could enter. The sprinkle pool that was so photographed on social media was not in any way deep and the smell of sweat and socks was horrrible. It too was overcrowded. The queue for the slide was long and the slide underwhelming. It was far too pink to appeal to all tastes. There was a room where u lie on beanbags and look at images of the sky but it was so busy it was neither quiet or peaceful in this room as intended and there was a severe shortage of beanbags. There was another room with bananas hanging from the ceiling and some younger kids were enjoying it and running so freely around that there were numerous collisions. There were samples of ice cream served but again the staff were under pressure with the numbers. The attendant explained to me on admission that the throughout the experience we could go at out own pace but on average took about an hr and a half. Even with the delays, my son and i were finished all the exhibits in about 50 mins. it was full of photo opportunities but i didnt need to pay those prices to take some snaps. I was looking forward to this part of our visit to new york but it was a disappointment - a major one. it was definitely too childish for my son at 12 years of age. I will not be returning or recommending it.
