I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this opportunity. Live narrative from Patrick was great. He truly knows his stuff and is very cordial. I appreciated the detail he went into during the trip. It is the hop-on-and-off version of the water and is absolutely wonderful. We took it on a very windy day and it allowed us the cover to go and see the sights without freezing. Had it been warm we would have also been in luck because their is an open top deck too. This is well worth the money and you get a great view of the statue without having to fight the crowds. I felt it to be very well run and totally safe. Enjoy!

We had a great trip on the New York water taxi, the guys who sold tickets outside the Staten Island ferry port were super helpful getting us on board.
On the water taxi the tour was amazing, our guide Lee was fantastic with his insight into New York & his entertaining style for delivering the information, he gave us tips for touring the city and even took photos of us with amazing views of NY. The views of the city from the boat were incredible and the statue too! Would 100% recommend these guys for the tour!

Really good fun afternoon, our guide was such fun, could talk at 100 miles an hour, absolutely brilliant he was, excellent facts and a mine of information on hand. Takes in all the major sights around NYC, from the water is another, interesting perspective. 10/10

First we paid someone in the street to do the tour. He didnt tell us what kind of tour it was, he just wanted to sell that damn thing. Then we go to the ticket office and we have to wait 30 minutes in the line anyway to get our "real" tickets. They tell us that it is sold out for the day (it's midday) so we have to come back the day after. So we have to change all our plans to try and come back the day after. The day after, the weather is soooooo bad that we can't see 10 meters in front of the boat. They cancelled the circle line, and refund everyone but they DID'NT cancelled the water taxi and they never wanted to give us back our money because we paid a guy in the street and not directly them. Actually they didnt refund anyone because of the weather. So if you know the weather is gonna be bad, DON'T buy tickets there, they don't care about the weather.

Hi Clouta
Thank you for your review, unfortunately it sounds like you dealt with some of the unauthorized sellers that operate downtown, these folks are not affiliated with New York Water Taxi. We are sorry you had this experience and if you ever visit us again please keep my contact handy. Please contact me directly should you want to discuss this matter in further detail.

It was misty on the day we boarded the water taxi. We wanted to walk on Brooklyn Bridge, but unfortunately the fog fog didn't lift, but worsened once we were on board. We got to Brooklyn and got off. They advised that due to the fog they were running behind as they were travelling at half speed and said the next water taxi would be 70 minutes. We got food but didn't go on the bridge as would be unable to see. After about 45 minutes we headed back to the water taxi station to ask staff if there were any updates, as we didn't want to stand outside waiting if the boat was going to be late as it was extremely cold, but nobody was at the station. It was impossible to see across the water where the previous station was to determine whether a boat was approaching or not. My daughter needed the toilet and as it was 20 mins until they had told us the next boat would arrive, she went into a nearby cafe. In that short time, the boat appeared out of the mist, 15 minutes earlier than they had said. I ran down to the station and told the staff that my daughter was just in the toilet and could they wait. They refused. I asked when the next boat would be and they said 70 minutes then left. I know the weather isn't their fault but when they have told people that the next boat will be 70 minutes, they might know that people will arrive for that time. They had even asked as we were exiting the boat whether we would be returning, so it was as though they were going to keep track of how many they had dropped off and therefore how many they needed to ensure got back. It seemed that instead of keeping to the timings they were telling people as they departed the boat, they instead tried to make up time and get back on track with the timetable. They should have staff at each stop to give updated information. Extremely disappointing.

Man approached us right when we entered park, looked official, had ID badge and uniform. Had us under the impression it was the ferry to the islands, before we were in sight of the actual ferry we were looking for. Bought two tickets for $38 each. When we were waiting for the ferry, we saw the legit one and realized we were bamboozled! Asked about refund, called a number on receipt, got a run-around, was told to look for a “Felix” in the area, other employee said he just left, then the man, Zuri, who sold us the tickets cane over, was extremely off putting, got close to my fiancé’s face, demanding to know why we wanted a refund and insisted he was not misleading at all. After a tense standoff, he made a call (I could see it was to Felix on his phone), then printed a voided transaction slip, handed it to us and walked away. It is hard to believe that these people are allowed to operate the way they do. On our way out we saw signs saying there is no private selling of tickets allowed in the park, then we remembered he first approached us on park grounds and while talking, walked about 20 yards to a sidewalk, on the edge, where our transaction occurred. These people are scammers.

We thought this tour was amazing value for money. The tour guide (Damien) was excellent and very informative and obviously knew his stuff. We were very glad we didn't get on the circle line which was ABSOLUTELY PACKED. The views and the commentary were excellent. My advice would be to get on the first boat at 10am at Midtown, and bot worry too much if there are lots of people upstairs. Brilliant value.

A scandal!
The worst experience with children. It was supposed to be a beautiful memory, but it turned into a nightmare! The captain (Captain LEROY) took us out onto the platform, telling us it was safe, then suddenly stopped the engines, and we took 2 waves head-on, injuring and soaking my 3 little girls. We were a dozen people completely soaked in 5 degrees outside. No professionalism and no compassion on the part of the crew, who didn't care. Worst of all, one of them ended the tour singing Franck Sinatra's New York, and we walked out with insults. We also had to buy clothes for the end of the day (+$100 for 5 people) and lost our tickets for the next museum.
Horrible! Company to flee!

We are thinking of getting the GoCity NYC Explorer pass, which states we must FIRST redeem at Pier 83 or 11.
Does anyone have confirmation of this? I have read you can redeem first ride at any stop, but also the GoCity Pass states Pier 83 or 11 only.
Written July 12, 2019
I don’t know if the GoCity pass is different but we had a voucher for the NY Water Taxi from our hotel and it had to be redeemed at Pier 83. We tried redeeming it at Battery Park to be able to get on the water taxi there at lower manhattan and they wouldn’t allow it. We ended up waiting until the next day and just got on the boat at Pier 83 and ended up having a great time. We really enjoyed it. Ended up being one of our favorite parts of the trip.

Do you have to opt for a hop on ticket. I would just like to pick up midtown go to SOL & get off at Brooklyn. Seems a lot to pay for a short journey. Or can you just do a short SOL trip ?
Written November 1, 2018
You can get a single trip, they only slow for photos at the SOL coming from Brooklyn all the way up to Midtown.
