I don't like to shop and here I was going shopping with 8 other women (1 my mom, 1 my sister , and 1 my sister-in-law) our group of ladies ranged from 24-64 and size 4-24, and we all walked away with something that we loved. I think I hit the jackpot though, I have a hard time finding clothes that fit me well, and when I do they are soooooo expensive. I went into this thinking I may get 1 or 2 tops. I came out with 2 skirt suites (very classic that I will be able to wear for a very long time) the perfect LBD and a gray one and an additional skirt and 7 tops (work, dressy and casual). I didnt want to stop,everytime I turned around there was something else I fell in love with. Pilar did such a wonderful job with such a diverise group, I was not expecting all of us to find as much as we did. I had the best time I have ever had shopping and I am planning my next trip this fall, I have decided that there is no other way to shop and it is worth the trip to NYC just to do this shopping trip.

My husband gave me a shopping trip with Pilar while we were in New York for our anniversary. I was so excited for the day to come when I would get to shop in the Big City. Let me tell you, that I was delighted with the places this true New York fashionista picked for me. I think we actually lost track of time we were in such a shopping groove.
I wish I had snapped more photos while shopping. But I will never forget that day, partly because I have some fabulous things to wear to help remind me. Pilar, thanks so much for making me feel so special and fabulous!

For my birthday, my husband surprised me with the best gift ever--a Girlfriend AND a shopping spree with Pilar! She is the best Girlfriend to shop with: honest, bubbly, energetic & fun she has a keen instinct to know what would look best on ANY body without wasting time. When I first laid eyes on her tiny-little-5'-self I didn't think it was possible she could choose anything for me since I am 5'9" tall & live a casual Southern California lifestyle--decidedly not a typical New Yorker. But Pilar has a talent for this, the experience plus the contacts & took me to showrooms I would never have found on my own. I felt like a model, everything is tailored so well (did I just lose 10#'s?), classic with a hint of edge to it, I bought almost everything I tried on, no messing around with junk AND the prices are incredible. Did they custom design these clothes just for me? How sweet! This is my second shopping trip with Pilar and I don't think I'll bother shopping alone again because that painful drill usually means I have to try 50 things on, take 50 things off in disappointment at how terrible I look...not with Pilar! Love, love love that woman!

after reading the many positive reviews, i decided to splurge on this tour for my 14yo daughter's birthday. pilar was great at returning emails and answering questions prior to the trip. we were really looking forward to this part of our weekend in NYC. my daughter and i met pilar and along with another mother and daughter, we were off. pilar took us to designer sample sales in the garment district, keeping close to 38th st. our first stop we found some great accessories (scarves, shrugs, sweaters and capes). my hopes were very high at that point, but quickly faded. many of the designer's studios we visited had clothing that was somewhat "older lady-ish". it really didn't appeal to the teens on the tour and as a 30something mom, it was either much too formal or to matronly. i kept thinking "my mother-in-law would love this!" again, we had a great time, pilar REALLY tried to find something that would appeal to our tastes. i think it was just a case of the wrong combo of shoppers and it just wasn't our day. overall, still fun and the pieces we did end up with are great. it was an expensive day to only end up with a few things. i feel like we could've done better had we just been out on our own and paid retail.

This is the best $160 I ever spent. Pilar's knowledge, contagious enthusiasm and genuine caring attitude made our shopping trip one in a million. My friend and I met in NYC for 4 days of shopping and catching up. Pilar was our only personal shopping choice. We wanted only the best and with over 800 positive reviews, you can't go wrong. My girlfriend is a tall size 4 and I am a curvy size 8/10. We found all kinds of choices, designer one of a kind and brands we see in our home town stores. We have both shopped all over the world and consider ourselves pretty savvy. So Pilar took us to a level we had never been or experienced before. It was truly an experience I can't rate. IT WAS OFF THE CHARTS.

Visited New York City in late October and was fortunate enough to have locked Pilar in for a personal shopping trip for my partner. New York is renowned for many amazing things and shopping is certainly not far from the top of the list. Having read so many fantastic reviews of Pilar's Shopping Girlfriend NYC experiences, I thought I'd give it a try for my partner - an avid shopper with a very particular style. She was not disappointed. Right from the start you're taken straight to the private showrooms of local New York designers (many who have featured in various fashion magazines and seen sported by many celebrities). Pilar can work out your sense of style quite quickly and will steer the expedition in that direction. She also isn't afraid to get you to try something a bit different but is very professional, knowing the fine balance between forcing and suggesting. The trip can cater for any budget with great items from as low as $5 al the way to beautiful luxury pieces. My partner couldn't have been happier with all the items she purchased (close to 30!!). And for the men who tag along (voluntarily or not!) it's a great chance to see an authentic backstage to something so iconic to New York, (or just to see your partner, mother, daughter, whoever, smiling ear to ear). Pilar is a also a wonderful host who not only has great experience in the fashion industry, but also is a lot of fun and so so gracious with her time (we went over an hour overtime at no additional cost or pressure to wrap it up). I know my partner definitely found it one of the highlights of our trip and all we can say is a huge thank you to Pilar for such a great experience!
My only tips would be:
1. Bring a decent amount of cash as most places are cash only.
2. If your budget allows definitely try and organise a private session or at least with a group of friends as you'll have more time in each showroom to yourselves and will be able to browse at leisure without any distracting external pressures.

After I received a career promotion, my husband surprised me by booking a shopping afternoon with Pilar so that I would feel more comfortable with my wardrobe in my new job. I would never have thought of this idea but can honestly say it was a fantastic experience. Before we met, I emailed Pilar about my situation, and she immediately came up with a game plan to visit designers whose clothes are appropriate for corporate board rooms. We visited three designers who were all distinctly different but had great options. Everything I bought was more "fashion forward" than is available in my community but also have classic, lasting appeal. I bought two suits, three dresses, a pair of trousers and two beautiful tops in about three hours. I never felt pressured to buy anything, and I never felt embarrassed about my size 10-12, 50-year-old non-model frame. The designers were sincere in their interest to make "real women" feel great. I would not hesitate to recommend Pilar, and I fully expect to book another shopping trip with her in the future. I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I did!

If you do any shopping in NYC - do this FIRST! You will not be disappointed!! I am so glad I did not go to outlets in NY before doing the Shopping Girlfriend Tour. Pilar is such a warm friendly woman who made the shopping trip a fantastic experience. I did the shopping tour with my husband a few days ago. I got nearly a whole new clothes wardrobe for less than a quarter of the price I would have normally spent and the designers advice was priceless. The clothes are of fantastic quality, the designers were very helpful and it is also a very fun experience going "behind the scenes" into designers showroom. There is no pretentiousness and I didn't feel obligated to buy at any time. I'll be back to do my spring/summer buying... I can't wait!!!

Dither and procrastinate no longer. Shopping with Pilar is the special gift that you have always wanted to give her.
Pilar has created a unique and extraordinary experience for normal people. Shopping with Pilar was not pretentious, intimidating or expensive. Everyone we met was very nice, pleasant and fun, and sincerely wanted us to have a good time and help my wife find clothes she loves. My wife smiled from ear to ear while she tried clothes. I watch a designer literally climb racks in her show room to find clothing she wanted my wife to try.
I am a mildly disheveled, middle-aged straight guy who would rather go to the dentist than the mall. I was thrilled with this experience and enjoyed myself almost as much as my wife. Have you ever had a New York clothing designer stand next to your wife, look at you and ask, “Is it OK, Can I make her sexy?” I have!
This is the gift you have always wanted to give your gal. Take her shopping with Pilar, make her happy and enjoy her in her great clothes. Be prepared, she will want to do this again.

For my 40th birthday, my husband treated me to a day of shopping with Pilar. It is the best birthday present a man can give a woman. Who doesn't like to look good? Pilar will make sure you look great.
Pilar started things off with a very unintimidating stop at a place that primarily featured scarves and wraps. It was a great place for us to get to know each other and I found several pieces to purchase. We went to three more places over the course of about five hours. I am a professional and I often find myself in matching suits because it's easy - I was also a fan of Garanimals as a child! Pilar helped me find several classic, business appropriate outfits that are also stylish and modern. I can't wait to wear them all.
Part of the fun of the shopping trip is the fact that you really feel like you're seeing a part of New York that few others get to see. I got to meet a couple of the designers and they were both incredibly gracious with their time. I know they don't make their money selling samples to tourists so it means a lot when they take the time to pick out an outfit for you and make sure you pick the styles that are most flattering to your shape.
Overall, I highly recommend this experience. You will have an amazing time, get to experience a part of New York that is often only seen on television, meet a new friend in Pilar, and get some fabulous new outfits!
