Neighborhood Eats Tour: Brownstone Brooklyn Timely meet up. Nice walk through several neighborhoods with good eating along the way. The things touched on by tour guide, Alex that we took note of was the history comment regarding Winston Churchill's mother and the Ellis Island history clarifications. We wished there had been more. The foods were delicious, mostly sweet. I think my husband would have enjoyed one sweet replaced with a savory.

Hello there! Thank you for your feedback on the Brownstone Tour. Glad you enjoyed Alex's telling of pertinent history in the area. We are always looking to improve on our food options and offer a great mix of sweet and savory. Many do like the collections we offer and we will look into how we can create a solid balance. We appreciate you coming on our tour and hope to see you on our tours in the future!

I decided to book this tour after asking my tour guide, Astrid, if she had any really good food reccomendations, (this was right after the Hamilton Tour ended, also high reccomend it!) She mentioned that a food tour was taking place on the following Saturday and that she thinks I'd really enjoy it. Well she was right. The tour guide that Saturday was Alex and he was glad to see me there and said that Astrid had mentioned to him that I would be on his tour. Alex was an amazing tour guide, happy to answer any questions anybody in our group had. He took an interest in everyone in our group and was happy to offer his suggestions about places to eat. Our first stop was in Chinatown where we had pork dumplings. The shop owner was out of the vegetarian dumplings, but without skipping a beat, Alex went to a bakery a few doors down and got some alternative samples for the vegetarians on our group. He explained in detail the progression of the influx of immigrants and how each group influenced the area. During our stop in Little Italy, he was more than happy to stop and let some in our group shop and take pictures, as many as we wanted. Personally, this was my favorite stop on the tour, because he took us to taste some of the best pizza I've had, hands down. (Upside Pizza btw, if anybody was wondering). He explained what makes the pizza special and different from the rest, and how it's his personal favorite. Our third stop was at Yonah Schimmel's for some sweet and savoury knishes. I wasn't too much of a fan of the sweet knish, the savoury was definitely a bite I'd order again. Alex took the time to explain the history of the shop and the surrounding neighborhoods. The last stop on our tour was at Loreley Biergarten in what used to be Little Germany where we sampled bratwurst and German pretzels. This trip, being my first time in NYC, it was nice to have someone explain the history and show sides of the city that most tourists don't get to experience. Alex was such a knowledgable and fun tour guide to have. I'm really glad I was able to be a part of this tour and I'd defintely reccomend it to anyone who wants to try getting a tour of not so touristy areas of NYC as well as getting an awesome food tour!

We went on the Hamilton tour and learned so much about the Wall Street area. Our tour guide Alex was very knowledgeable. I’d definitely recommend this tour if you’d like to learn what NYC was like 250 years ago.

Terrific tour of the lower Manhattan, Chinatown, Little Italy and the LES with my wife and teenage daughters. We all really enjoyed it. Jessie was a fantastic tour guide. Fun, knowledgeable and friendly. She made it an excellent experience. Learned a lot about the area and ate good food at places we never would have tried. Highly recommended!
