Usually the music is great, but the food and drinks are mediocre and very overpriced. Not worth it if it is not an artist that you really love is playing. Also the space is clearly very much a tourist attraction rather than an actual jazz club with a gift shop on the upper floor.

Got in line at 9:30 for the 10:30 show and sat next to the stage. Looks like most seats have great views. Show fee varies by performer, plus one drink minimum ($9 for a beer in my case, but the minimum is $6). Food at the table next to me looked fine.

As far as jazz club goes, Blue Note is probably one of the worst I've been to - tiny cramp place (and they'll really pack you in like sardines), crappy food, expensive booze, and so-so service. I've no idea how they can continously book top tier artists time and again, and so I continue to go back despite my grumbling.... More

Let's be clear - you go to the Blue Note for the music and with the understanding that the food is mediocre and the drinks are pricy (but no more pricy than other high end bars in the city). This is the place for legends and top tier players, so you pay a premium to see them an intimate (cramped)... More

This jazz club, open since 1981, offers the nightclub feel (food, drinks, waitresses balancing everything while lithely moving through the tables) and wonderful entertainment. The service is excellent and the food surprisingly good. You can reserve a seat at a table (although you can’t select the table until you get there) or at the bar for a lesser price. The... More

Like any place that features music performance as its prime offering, the experience will depend a lot on who is on stage. When we went, it was saxophonist David Sanborn and his quintet — all excellent players and very fun to hear. The venue itself is small and reservations are a must, but even for a top talent like Sanborn... More

What great place to listen to great jazz artist. A must go place and a must have experience when you have friends from out of town.....unfortunately it is a bit touristy lately rather than an old school jazz club. Therefore the sessions are short and pricey.

Yes I know this is iconic which is why we paid up the $45 dollars per head to "reserve a table". Actually you do not reserve a table you reserve a chair on a shared table crammed into a small space where if you wish to go to the bathroom you have to ask at least 5 people to move.... More

The live music was excellent and as the club was quite small and cosy we were very close. We booked in advance but still had to queue for a long time to ensure that we got in as it is very popular. The food is good but basic but you really go for the music and the atmosphere.

The line up is just: WOW It's the temple of Jazz. On line reservation is higly recommended. I suggest the late show so you can have the oppurtunity to have a quick talk to the artists

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
