3 hours or decadence in a private suite. We went two days after our wedding to relax. We were guests of the hotel. It was extra special. Note that we are Manhattanites.

Stay here every Christmas and regard it as the leading hotel in NYC. The spa is wonderful and you feel very pampered from the moment you arrive (and the prices reflect that). Perfect way to spoil yourself.

I have to start by saying that I have never stayed at Mandarin Oriental hotel, as the price point is a bit high for my budget. I was excited though, to treat myself to a spa appointment here, as I had heard great things about the Mandarin Oriental chain. I arrived to find a dark, quiet space with one person... More

Visited the spa with two friends and felt pampered from the moment we arrived. You can arrive well before the appointment time to fully enjoy the spa facilities. The relaxation room alone is spectacular with four loungers which adjust to your personal reclining preference and it hosts magnificent views of the city. On meeting the therapist they talk with you... More

Last Saturday I had the best massage experience of my life at the Mandarin Oriental Spa. We had a couples massage in the private suite. The massage was exceptional and the overall experience was amazing. I will say that it is pricy but worth the money if you really want to treat yourself.

We chose the couple's suite and were very glad we did. All in one room, there is a raised hot tub, sauna with showers, foot thrones, two beds for a couple's massage, and a bed for a Japanese meal. The view from the spa is incredible, and the suite feels like being in the front row. The treatment started with... More

I strongly recommend that this place be renovated. It is dated. You change in the bathroom or in the shower and my 400 dollars hour and a half massage was below average.I do not recommend this place.

When you are weary of walking and need to spend a few hours to recover, head for the 35th floor of the Mandarin Oriental. High tea or brunch overlooking Central Park and Columbus Circle, attentive staff and good food are just what is needed to recharge the batteries. A very nice treat.

Having been assured by our concierge that we would not have to book a table to have a look over Central Park, we (6 of us) were told by the Mandarin maitre d' that this would not be possible and we were turned away. Disappointed at lack of flexibility.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
