I went for the Brasil Fest. As we enter the area there were checking I.D. And placing a green wrist tag on people to be able to buy alcoholic beverages. Nice. The area is not too large, it’s enclosed, if one suffers of claustrophobia don’t...More

All this hype for not much going on. You're better off to just stay over in Chinatown and Little Italy and visit the shops there.

I read about the Hester Street Fair in Timeout Magazine and it seemed appealing, especially since I wanted to try something different on this trip to NYC. The Fair was much better on paper than in person: only about 20 vendors and that includes the...More

Maybe my expectations were too high? It’s not a “street” fair; about half the size of a basketball court with approximately only 20 stalls in the whole area. In 10 mins of browsing its all over. I had planned a whole day and had to...More

This is a nice perk for the neighborhood. The local artisans and food vendors seem to have a following. It is relatively small scale, maybe 15 vendors total. We made it a destination and it wasn't worth the cab ride.

My husband and I were in the area so we decided to check it out. Hester Street Fair is very small. When we went, there were about 8-10 vendors and most of them were selling goods rather than food. We did not check the website...More

This was a nice little stop off for us as we were strolling around the LES with foodie stalls and benches on the site so we could rest awhile (or more importantly hubby and teens could sit while I browsed. There were jewellery stalls, food and...More

A nice little market and festival to get the day started. Had a lobster taco on my way through the loop. Very small, but enjoyable. A good way to start the day.

Hester Street Fair is held on Saturdays 11:00 until 6:00. During my vacation I went to a little bit of trouble to get there because I love New York Street Fairs! There was hardly anything there and it was so small. It didn't even take...More

Stopped by here in October after reading about it online. Expected many more vendors, so it was disappointing. There were only about a dozen, if that, inside what looked like a school yard. We were done seeing it in 15 minutes. We ended up getting...More
