- hrobinson1114Nashville, Tennessee5,786 contributionsNot exotic, but bursting with candy for a good priceFun candy store, though not exactly what I thought it would be. It’s in the name, so I should have known better. I thought this would be more about exotic/unique/unusual candy or candy from other countries. And there were a few things, such as lays potato chips from Asian countries. And there are some novelty treats, like gum packets with fun sayings on them, or the baseball card gum from my youth in the 80s. But a lot of this is run of the mill stuff, but conveniently packaged in on place. Jelly belly, lollipops, various types of fairly mainstream chocolate. A lot of hard candy and suckers considered “grandma candy.” Things like mints, butterscotch. But it isn’t about fancy or exotic. If you’re looking for a large, affordable selection to please the masses, this is your place. Next I’ll check out one of the cities specialty exotic candy shops.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten October 1, 2023

If you like candy - this is the place, and the prices aren’t bad either. I picked up a nice little haul of goodies but I’ll definitely be back on my next visit.Visited January 2024Traveled with friendsWritten January 18, 2024
- AdventureTraveler6080 contributionsLife may be sweeter for this...I've been to Economy Candy a number of times and if you're visiting NYC, make sure not to miss it. It's like stepping back into your childhood as you walk through that candy land. I had pre-ordered some candy which I was picking up today and decided to grab a few more items. As I turned around, I noticed that the line had grown incredibly long. Yamilex, who had just given me my order, noticed my dismay (I was on my way to tutoring and in a bit of a rush) and was able to ring me up on a portable device. Now that is what I call exemplary customer service! Thank you Yamilex - much appreciated! You rock! I highly recommend Economy Candy! I'll definitely be back!Visited April 2024Traveled soloWritten April 16, 2024

Wax packs from the 80s and 90s, prank fit type items, candies you haven't seen in ages. This is a major throwback and is a really fun place to visit.Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 27, 2024

If you find yourself in lower Manhattan around East Village, any sweet tooth should visit Economy Candy on Rivington Street. They have an amazing array of reasonably priced sweets. We happened upon this place while walking to our car and had to take a look inside. I'm glad we did.

If you're a fan of old fashioned candy, an endless amount of options, including chocolate from Europe at great prices, please visit. You can place an order online, and pick it up. The customer service is also very responsive.

Sweet, tasty, nostalgic visit to every candy you can think of. Overwhelming amount of sugary goodness to study and find your favorites. Our favorite thing to discover was the 90s themed packs of cards in the middle of the store. There were vintage baseball cards as well as comics, shows and more. The front of the store had bags and scales to weigh pieces by the pound and different sections around the store like gummy, chocolate, etc. Was fun to look around and find a few to take home. The kids loved it.

Looking for a candy from 50 years ago. Don't recall the name, but do remember it had raspberry filling on graham bottom with chocolate all surrounding. May have had chocolate sprinkles too.
Sure would like to find it.
