Candy is incredible! Very friendly and funny guide. We did the Asian vegetarian food tour in Chinatown and it didn’t disappoint. We got the chance to try some unusual foods that we would never have ordered had we been on our own.
We honestly can’t recommend this enough, if your curious about Asian cuisine and don’t have a lot of experience with it then this is a must do activity. The food was great (mostly lol, fresh tofu pudding is just not for me but I’m glad to have tried it.)
A vibrant and cultural part of the city and after the tour we really felt like like we knew more about the culture and the history of the area.
Thank you so much NY food tours for a great day :)

We loved Candy's tour !!! I am a native NYer who likes to learn more about the city and also spend time with my nieces and nephews in fun ways. This tour hit it out of the park. Not only did I learn about different cuisines (that I thought I already knew about but didn't) and about differences between the different Southeast's culture, we experienced Chinatown in a new light. Simply strolling through the small streets between food venues provided fodder for stimulating and interesting conversation. And although the tour was only a few hours, we felt like we spent the entire day exploring -- every moment was rich with eye candy (no pun intended) . There were several food "stops" (more that other food tours I researched online) so the variety was great. And because we had a fabulous weather day, our tour was just perfect - nothing could not have been better. Thank you Candy!! (I am already planning to take another food tour with a different set of relatives).
P.S The photo shows you a unique dessert offering that we were introduced to.

Candy was fantastic, and I definitely experienced things I wouldn't have otherwise. She helped us sample southeast Asian jerkies that turned out to be delicious, several fantastic dumplings, a selection of candies, and topped it all off with amazing dim sum. In between, we walked through an Asian market that I'm sure I wouldn't have found on my own, and she gave us lots of background on the area, people, and food that surrounded us. I'd do it again.

The tour guide Candy is amazing!!!! She is so sweet and funny and knowledgeable!!!!!!! I took my parents on this tour as a gift for them last month and it was SO much fun for all of us. Candy takes you to great spots that we would have never found on our own. The food was DELICIOUS and Candy was able to provide us with information about everything you were eating. You won’t leave hungry! Thank you so much, Candy!!!

candy was awesome! We live in NYC but wanted something different to do on a Saturday afternoon and she took us to places we’ve never been before. Her commentary was very helpful (and funny) and the foods we tried were all so delicious. Would 10/10 recommend this to anyone visiting or any locals who want to explore a cool neighborhood!

This is an excellent way to spend a few hours in NYC no matter what the weather. This was my second tour, and I enjoyed it even more than the first. You are guaranteed not to leave hungry. Our guide was funny, knowledgeable and providing enough personal anecdotes so to make us feel we were being given a tour by a member of the neighbourhood. Have fun...and don't eat breakfast before you go!

We thought Josh was amazing and led us down a path that was educational and fun. He took us into places that we never would have tried, and what a great treat.
We learned about the neighborhood, and the way it grew.
We were slow on this tour, and stopped several times for picures and to talk, and Josh was very willing to stop and share information beyond what he had planned.
We asked for a detour at one place that we wanted to go try on our own, and Josh was so easy going he waited with us and only built onto the amazing tour that we already had.
Every stop was amazing, and we loved everything we ate. Each of us had a different favorite so I feel there is something for everyone.
After doing several food tours, I will say that this one does not stuff you with way too much food, but leaves you content with a great feeling of sampling what the locals have to choose from.
When I return I will use this company again, and try a new neighborhood.

My two adult daughters and I purchased tickets for the Ultimate New York Food and Culture tour on January 21st. Despite the fact that the scheduled tour guide was not available, we were met at the arranged time and location by Candy. She provided us a very personalized and unique experience given that we were the only ones on the tour that afternoon. She had a wealth of information, and demonstrated that she understood her clients by having done some research about us given that we were from Canada. I was impressed by that. The locations she brought us to, were quintessential New York food experiences, and without a doubt, some of the tastiest food we tried while we were there. I have been on other tours, but this felt very personalized and informative. I would not hesitate recommending this tour, or Candy to anyone. Happy Eating!

We had such a great time on this tour. New York is huge and we feared missing out on the truly special places that only the locals would know about. We knew NYC would have some of the best donuts, cakes, cupcakes etc but could we ever be sure we found the best? With this tour we did.
Candy, our guide, was a delight. She loved chatting with us and we the same. After 10 minutes it felt more like wandering around the city with a friend trying out the delights on offer.
I can not recommend this tour enough to *anyone*.

So I have done the Tours for Chelsea market and the Original Greenwich village tours. I am coming to NYC in May with a group of 8 and wanted to know if I should do the Heart of Greenwich village tour or the Nolita/Noho tour. I loved the first 2 and wanted to get a real good one for my group. Any feedback on either one being better??

Does anyone have a promo code or "come back soon" coupon you wouldn't mind sharing? Hoping to book for our family of four. Thank you.
Written November 4, 2016
The promo code is season depending on the tour you are interested in taking. You can also email the company for details. Best.

Yes, most of our tours either don't offer pork or provide a substitute besides Tastes of Chinatown Tour. But our Tastes of Chinatown Tour with Dim Sum, a very similar tour, have great substitutes. Or, you can consider our Asian Vegetarian Food and Culture Tour instead. Please feel free to contact us if you have any question! Best, New York Food Tours
