Great Experience! Candy was great, very insightful, and took Us to sample some amazing food, which I never would have known about, giving Us entertaining info and stories about it. My kids, 8 and 11, who are usually picky about The things they eat, tried eveything, loved everything, and had a great great time.

I booked this tasting tour for my mother's birthday. We ended up being the only two people in the group! But our guide, Candy, still made such an effort for us. She was extremely personable and very knowledgable about Chinatown, it's food, it's history, as well as the wider history of New York and the Asian culture globally. We felt... More

All restaurants had seating and you weren't leaving with a greasy paper bag but this is not considered fine dining; thank goodness. I love food and enjoy getting acquainted with a neighborhood by enjoying food the locals eat. We started with falafel that was perfect! So fresh, so flavorful! We moved on to tacos, pastor tacos with everything housemade. I'm... More

Our tour with Josh was fantastic. We were a rowdy crew that was bonding as a team for work and josh felt like one of the team. It was fun and he shared great knowledge of the area that was much appreciated. Thanks Josh!

Such a great day today on this tour. Candy was a fantastic guide. So knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. The group we were with was truly international which added to the whole experience, as we were able to hear about there food experiences at home and on their travels as well. My two adult daughters and I purchased tickets for the Ultimate New York Food and Culture tour on January 21st. Despite the fact that the scheduled tour guide was not available, we were met at the arranged time and location by Candy. She provided us a very personalized and unique experience given that we were the only ones on the... More

We had such a great time on this tour. New York is huge and we feared missing out on the truly special places that only the locals would know about. We knew NYC would have some of the best donuts, cakes, cupcakes etc but could we ever be sure we found the best? With this tour we did. Candy, our... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
