Go beyond the guidebook - Marisa's tour are engaging, lively and dynamic, using authentic ancient artifacts for hands-on discovery. Ages 5 to 95! Families, adult groups and couples all welcome. Virtual programs available 7 days a week; In person tours available every day except Wednesday when the Museum is closed. Personalized, themed programs to supplement school curriculum, private groups, 6th grade social studies, libraires, etc. Dozens of topics to choose from with numerous Met Museum virtual tours. May be offered as a series of programs or as a one time program.

Simply put - one of the best cultural experiences in NYC that we’ve ever had - and we live in the city. Marisa is passionate, knowledgeable and she made our private tour of The Met simply unforgettable. Her knowledge of the facility and the exhibits is second to none, and her kind and friendly approach with regard to historical details kept our group engaged with thoughtful conversation for the entire day. We started when the museum opened and we closed the place down and we could have kept going. Anyone looking for a unique and bespoke NYC experience should definitely put this experience on your itinerary - Marisa is highly recommended!

We really loved our tour with Marisa last week at the MET. She is very personable and knowledgeable, and more importantly, made the tour interesting and exciting. We highly recommend Marisa to anyone who wants a museum tour or to learn more about art and history.

My extended family visited NY for Thanksgiving and, on a friend's advice, we hired Marissa to give us a tour of the Met. Prior to our tour, she helped us decide approximately how long we wanted to be there and whether there were certain exhibits we preferred to focus on. (It is a huge museum.) With her help, we choose the ancient Egypt exhibits and then some of the general highlights of the museum. She came prepared with extra photos, visual aids, and hand-outs. She was friendly, engaging to all of us (there were 12 of us ranging in age from 10-74), and extremely knowledgable. We all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and look forward to doing this with her again next year!

When my family visited the MET over the weekend, we weren’t prepared for the wonderful treat we received from Marisa. Not only she knows all the intricacies of the art pieces shown, her enthusiastic delivery is what made the visit most enjoyable. She was even prepared with extra photos she showed us on her phone to back up the stories ‘behind the scenes’. THANK YOU so much Marisa for a superb morning at the MET!

Going to The Metropolitan Museum of Art? Need a guide? Take it from me, you need a guide! Look no further. Marisa with Museums by Marisa is phenomenal! I cannot imagine having a more knowledgeable nor more personable guide. She is not only an archeologist and Egyptologist but also has a masters degree in teaching from Harvard. She makes history come alive and connects the dots from one civilization to the next. Because the museum has been enlarged through the years, adjoining sections are not laid out chronologically. Marisa waltzes back and forth through the various areas tying the development of civilization, history and art into a cohesive thread. Tell her what you are interested in and she custom tailors your experience. Because I am an artist, our tour included artistic development through the centuries. My husband and I spent five hours with Marisa and are already planning our next visit. Don’t miss this opportunity to see the world class Metropolitan Museum of Art through the eyes of someone who has had a love affair with it since she was a child!

My husband, our three adult children and myself had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours with Marissa at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her private tour was fun, engaging and informative! She brings her love of history and art and turns it into a learning experience like no other! We looked at works of art through her eyes and vast knowledge and we learned quite a lot.
She's an engaging, energetic fun person! We were lucky indeed to spend time with her, thanks Marissa! ❤️

When someone can bring a museum to life… weather Roman Greek, Egyptian, impressionist or Barbizon you must take advantage
In this case Marisa is not only an expert but has a personality that you never want to leave the Met as long as she is with you!!!

Marissa helped me learn more than I ever had at a museum! My family went on a tour with her as part of an extended family weekend in New York. Her energy is contagious and she was able to answer every question we threw her way. Could not recommend her enough. She was able to accommodate to the exact experience we wanted and made the museum so enjoyable when we would have otherwise been overwhelmed!

As we are planning a trip to Egypt in March 2024, we arranged to have Marisa take us through the Egyptian galleries at the Met. What a fantastic day. Marisa is so passionate and full of enthusiasm Her explanations of this 5000 year old culture was beyond great. I HIGHLY recommend having her lead you on a tour through the Met!

We had an incredible 3 hours with Marisa in the Met Museum, New York.
Our online connection before we met at the Museum was great, with clear instructions, practical tips for a good visit and a real warmth and energy.
We met like old friends, and Marisa took real time and attention to understand what we were after from our day ( we had been suitably vague!!).
Our time with Marisa was fun, informative and had us ready for more. Her knowledge was incredible, but even more exciting was her enthusiasm and clarity.
Be you a casual visitor, someone in search of academic detail, a family or a couple on interested amateurs like us, you will not go wrong with Marisa.
We are already planning our next trip to New York, and she is the first person we want to meet for more adventures in this most magical of museums.
So, if you want a fun, informative visit that you will not forget, book with Marisa - you will not be disappointed!!
