Marc met my daughter and I at an easy to find location, then reviewed with us the photos we wanted and incorporated our requests. He guided us through NYC's iconic spots for professional photo shots that he orchestrated for our best look, from flagging down taxis, kicking up our heels in front of Radio City Music Hall, fun subway shenanigans and incredible shots of us on the Brooklyn Bridge that were taken with no others in the background, though the most crowded on the day before New Year's eve. Marc is a master at his craft and we are sooo grateful for the individual and paired photos of the best New Year's ever!!!

Marc of PhotoTrek Tours is an incredibly talented photographer and a spectacular tour guide. He is professional, punctual, and he provides high-quality service to his clients. He arrived to our meeting point early and he asked me several questions to be sure to tailor the tour and customize the photo shoot around my needs. During my private tour, Marc took me to sightsee several iconic NYC landmarks such as: Central Park, the Upper East Side, the Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square, and the Plaza Hotel (i.e., the hotel featured in the classic holiday film, Home Alone). As an NYC native, Marc has a plethora of knowledge about the history, culture, and the many hidden gems that surround the city. In between photo takes, Marc, taught me how to navigate the subway system and he shared valuable insights about the city with me that helped make my stay in NYC more feasible and meaningful. Thanks so much for everything, Marc!

Fantastic experience, not only did we get lots of amazing photos but Marc gave us lots of background for the places we visited and knew exactly how to make each shot appear to be just us despite some of the busy locations. We went from busy Times Square to Brooklyn Bridge and quieter Brooklyn Heights area, resulting in beautiful photos. Highly recommend, it is great to have so many photos of us both at stunning locations.

Marc delivered much more than we expected. Not only did he capture unique photos in the middle of the street in Times Square, with a cab driver, atThe Plaza plus beautiful Central Park photos, but he also imparted a lot of history. Marc is extremely knowledgeable in New York history as well as a highly talented photographer. We will certainly use him again when we return to the Big Apple.

The best thing we did all trip! Fantastic photographic memories to last forever. Mark made us feel so comfortable (I’m not a fan of being in front of the camera) & the knowledge from a local was extremely helpful. We booked for our first morning in NYC & it really did help us get our bearings. Our photos are incredible & it’s so lovely to have more than just selfies. My daughter was pants at taking pics so without this tour there wouldn’t be many holiday snaps of me. I had a specific request for a location of a picture & this was accommodated, Mark even went above & beyond to help me make a video to send home to hubby in the UK. LOVED every minute!!!!

Awesome tour! Really one of the highlights of our trip to NYC. Marc is the local guy you hope for to help point out what's good and what's not so good. He's incredibly skilled and flexible while also making your tour fun and easy. Can't say enough good things!!

We decided to hire a tour guide, since this was my daughter’s first leisure trip to NY. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. Marc was great and had a good sense of humor. My daughter and I had a great experience with Marc @ PhotoTrek Tours. He was prompt, accommodating, and professional. He met up with us at Time Square as we were running late for the appointment. He took us for a brief tour around SOHO, Greenwich Village, and a walk on the Brooklyn Bridge. He is informative, friendly, and a great photographer. He taught us how to catch the subway without getting lost, which saved me a good amount of money for the remainder of our stay in NY. The photo was good too! We plan on booking him again!

Wow! I just got back home to Atlanta after an amazing weekend in New York for my son’s birthday!
Marc was absolutely amazing. Very energetic, friendly, understanding, and kind. I cannot get enough of our photos!
There is no way I would have experienced the city without his help. Let alone create such beautiful memories through these photos. I even told him that I would yet again use PhotoTrek on my next trip to New York.
If you’re traveling to NY, book this asap! It is soooo worth it! My phone would have probably died or run out of storage. It definitely would have been harder finding my way to all these iconic places. So yea…schedule this and just let Marc enhance your experience.

Marc was an amazing photographer and tour guide! He was very accommodating and he was efficient with our time. We saw a lot in a small amount of time. Marc, also, went out of his way to make sure we got on the right subway back to our hotel.

This is billed as a personalized tour of NYC set at your own pace including many famous landmarks along with an informative tour. The owner of this company, Marc, is a nice man, but I do believe the description of the service on his web site is a bit misleading. Not only was this "tour" not at our pace (it was most definitely at his-I was practically running), it only included three famous locations and at one none of the pictures were usable. They were blurry, dark, and poorly framed.
Although some of the photos taken on this "tour" were some of my favorite of our vacation, they were no better quality than others taken by strangers we handed our camera to on the street. Yes, the photographer had a nicer camera than ours (though not a true professional camera), but many of the photos he took were out of focus, had one of us with our eyes shut, or a weird facial expression- and most of there were not re-shot.
We were moving so fast there was not time enough to even look around. The photographer took no time to get to know our likes and dislikes or interests. He framed his "stock" shots but did not even point out the large "clump" of my hair that was across my forehead until the last few pics of the entire shoot. Many of the photos would have been great if not for that one detail.
As far as a "tour" this was anything but. The photographer spoke incessantly about the subway and how to use it (despite my husband telling him he had lived in the city in the past). He did not let us get a word in edgewise, not even to speak to one another. When we did ask about landmarks other than the most famous, he did not know anything about them. It would have been nice if, instead of telling us how to use the subway, he had provided some history of the places we were seeing. He seemed very much in a hurry to get us to the end of the "tour" at the Brooklyn Bridge because he lives in Brooklyn and it is convenient for him to walk home from there. He did deliver the disc with the photos to our hotel the next day as promised and we were happy to own the photos and have all the rights to them.
Overall, I would call the photographer amateur while, for the price ($250 for 2 hrs), one would expect a professional. Perhaps if the price was lower I would have been more satisfied. It was nice to have someone to take pictures of us together without having to ask a stranger to do it, although we accomplished this quite easily on our own by asking other tourists to take pics of us with our camera. If I had known ahead of time that it would be that easy I would not have booked a photographer. Because of that and the amateur quality of many of the photos, I would not recommend this service.

I am fortunate to have create a business, PhotoTrek Tours, that I can showcase all the beauty and charm of NYC. I do so by taking people around in 2 or 3 hour tours. There are over 391 reviews on my website with a 4.9 rating out of 5 stars. I also have numerous other favorable reviews on TripAdvisor and many more on Viator.
Being in business over 7 years and with literally a couple of thousand tours given to date, there is always the chance you will encounter that impossible to please person. Well, regrettably this individual is trying to taint my business with misleading reviews.
I trust that you you do a bit of research on PhotoTrek Tours both here at Trip Advisor and elsewhere you will see all the wonderful feedback we have received and memories we have provided our guests over the years.
I ask you, the reader to do you research and I am sure you will undoubtedly come to the conclusion that the review is very isolated from one of those people who simply will never be pleased.

I plan to do the tour in April. In the morning, would it be better to take the tour on Friday or Saturday? I ask this because of the flow of people in the streets and places.

Hello. Thank you for the question and your interest in the tour. Honestly, either day is fine. We have been doing the tour for 14 years and, even if the streets are a bit busier, we know where to place you to get wonderful photos. Either day would work fine.

Why does the price say $89, but when I choose date of 1 Nov 2017 for 2 adults the price is $364 for only 2 adults.

Thank you for the inquiry. Tripadvisor list the pricing based on the rate for maximum number of people on the private tour (8). There is a price reduction for persons 3-8. Price for two is fixed. Additionally, there is a special discount for tours booked and taken between now and March 15th, bringing the price for the larger group, per person rate even lower. I regret any confusion.

Hello. We do not have guides who are fluent in Spanish. We have taken many people on the tour with limited English. We manage to get wonderful photos. If you have speak a little English, we are sure the tour will be a great way to experience NYC.

Hello. TripAdvisor lists the price based on the maximum number of people booking the tour (one group of 8 people), thus a lower listed price, as there is a discount, per person, when groups of 3 or more book. Price for 2 people, 2 hours is $137.50, per person ( $275 total), year round. I hope this has answered your question. Regret any confusion.
