Having taken group ASA 101, 103, and a practice sail with these guys I feel I must sing their praises. Eric & Sean (Shawn?) were our 101 instructors to start. Their affable & entertaining teaching styles helped make the concepts super easy to understand in the classroom portion. We split off and Eric was our boat portion instructor. He was patient with everyone, and had all the answers to our questions. Soon after that, we did a practice sail with Ace. The other two people didn't show so it felt like we had our own private boat. Ace was there to assist when we needed help but otherwise let us practice tacking and jibing on our own which was an invaluable experience for us. I then tackled ASA 103 and Jonathan was our instructor. There was a ton more to digest in this course vs. 101, but over the course of the weekend Jonathan covered just about everything we needed for the exam and then some. We even got to experience refueling the boat at a marina. Jonathan's instruction style, like Eric's, was personable and approachable & he's just an easygoing guy with great stories of his sailing experiences. I opted to go with Atlantic Yachting for my intro to the sport based on their reviews, and I 100% made the right choice. You can tell the entire staff loves what they do, and that makes for an amazing time on and off the water. I can't recommend them enough. Thanks so much!

I loved it! I took ASA 101. The instructor and crew were very nice. The sailboat was in great condition. The instructor Eric was very knowledgeable and even taught us about Bernoulli's principle and the Venturi effect (at the crew's request). By the end of the weekend we were well prepared - tacking, jibing, and practicing man-overboard scenarios. It was a great experience. I highly recommend it.

If you are wanting to go sailing NYC - look no further! I can't say enough about this company and the day we had. The vibes were truly immaculate...believe me when I say no other vibe will ever match said vibe. The boat itself was absolutely stunning and while I don't think you can have a bad day out on the water, the staff made our experience truly incredible. We brought wine along with our packaged meats and cheeses, and they were kind enough to not only serve us, but they put together a professional charcuterie board that was beautiful. Both Jonathan and Jamie (I hope I am getting her name right :) ) were so friendly and engaging - by the time we got off the boat we all felt like old friends. Our group hasn't stopped talking about it since and I can't wait to see them again in 2022!

I decided to learn to sail finally in my late 40's and chose Atlantic Yachting over a few other schools because of the great reviews, and they were right! Everyone from the first phone call to the Skippers were great. I had a Saturday Sunday sail which, due to rain, cause my Sunday to get postponed. Logan contacted me and set up another Sunday which worked for me. My first day I met Dave and Eric. We had a 2 hour in depth overview (I suggest HIGHLY to purchase the $99 ASA Cert Supplement when booking) as if you don't read this prior, it can be a bit confusing, but Dave and Eric made it easy. We sailed in the afternoon, 4 aboat, and all took turns learning Tacking and Jibing, sheeting the sails, points of sail, and working as a team. I was on Dave's boat for my first, and he was great. He knows alot and has a great approach to learning..basically try it and learn. The following Sunday I had Johnathan for our makeup Sunday. He was fantastic, and I learned alot as he explained things in a different way. Both Dave and Johnathan are TOP NOTCH teachers and I truly recommend you learn how to sail at this school. Tribeca Pier 25 and you're good to go!

This is a review by someone that didn't sail with these guys. We arrived just as a storm cell with electrical activity was approaching. Ultimately we didn't even make it aboard. That said, the skipper, Jonathan, was knowledgeable about the strange tidal action of the Hudson and the office was understanding and refunded our charter fee promptly. I'll give it another go next time I'm here.
