Neighborhood: Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.

One of a kind shop with carnival costumes and more to visit all year round. Divided into various areas, it is spread over several floors and I recommend also going to the basement where you can find costumes for rent, divided according to type. There are objects to rent for all tastes, more or less terrifying and objects ready for various types of pranks. Friendly staff ready to joke with the cat Mr. Hyde for company. It didn't seem like a particularly clean place to me, something was overlooked and some costumes seemed quite simple (I was hoping to find the original Star Wars costumes) but it's a shop that doesn't have anything similar in the whole of Ny.

I just walked into Abracadabra to see what the store was all about. Their window displays were very unique and were decorated already for the Halloween season. Talk about interactive displays that could scare the hell out of you. Things moved, grabbed and screamed at you and looked like they were coming to life.

The costume selection is excellent and there is everything you need for any holiday especially getting ready for Halloween and Christmas. There are clothes, makeup, accessories, wigs and costumes for rent. Even their staff is really into it all with masks on and dyed hair. They really make the store special, and they really know their merchandise.

They were also really helpful and very nice to talk to when shopping there. They even turned on the displays for me and showed me how they worked. They work hard here and have fun while they are doing it.

Very cool place for halloween stuff, scary stuff, and magic tricks....but very expensive. There is a basement where they rent and sell costumes. It could creep-out little kids.
