Very unique subway and/or walking experiences available as part of a public...

Very unique subway and/or walking experiences available as part of a public tour or as a private tour that is different from most standard guided food tours. We also offer self-guided On Your Own Experiences which are food walk-throughs of various New York neighborhoods and are designed to help save you money over eating in tourist restaurants. We are a true eating tour, not a sampling tour and we also offer restaurant recommendations (as noted in many reviews) on our guided tours to help you eat well and save money for the rest of your trip. You choose what you eat and how much. You'll see non-tourist neighborhoods in a relaxed manner and while on the guided tours you will be mingling with others from around the world in a larger group format. For those who do want to experience great restaurants and save money we offer our Customized Restaurant Concierge Service. This is a personal service available through TripAdvisor based on your lodging location, attractions you are seeing, food preferences and budget. To experience a culture one must experience their cuisine and since New York is the world's melting pot its many cuisines is its shared culture. Food On Foot Tours takes visitors beyond the tourist attractions to the largest buffet in the world, New York. You'll see the neighborhoods where New Yorkers live and eat. You'll share our passion for all things New York and travel the way New Yorkers do, by subway and foot.

Cory provided a very entertaining experience and showed us a side of New York that we would have missed had we not signed up and gone. This was very worthwhile for the time and cost. A good memory was made.

We did the Go West Tour which was based mainly in Hell's Kitchen area. Went to 5 stops (2 sweet, 3 savoury). Adequate time at each stop to eat and given advice on portion size to order so you make it round the whole tour (and not get too full!) Make sure you are hungry before the tour! Corey was... More

Had this tour included with the ny pass, Corey super nice guy but we were a group of over 30 people and obviously managing all this people around the streets of NYC by yourself isn't ideal. We had a nice time met nice people but it would have been definitely easier with less shouting with a little less people and... More

Glad you had a wonderful time on the tour but we do not try to be what other tours are. We are a large group tour and we are an alternative to every other food tour in New York. Our differences with the other tours are numerous. We celebrate those differences. Our large group format allows guests to spend time... More

Cory's guided tour around Midtown was delicious and informative. He showed us some hidden gems in the area, and you could buy and eat as much or as little as you wanted (though his portion suggestions were spot on) - a mix of both savouries and sweets. We did the tour with a 12yo and 9yo who enjoyed all the... More

Great wander through different areas and a good variety of foods on offer. The only suggestion I would have is to back off a bit on the detail for meeting place. Several people in the group said the same thing. Easy to find meeting place so less detail would be better. I would recommend and definitely would take another tour.

Thanks for your kind words and suggestion. Many people compliment us on being specific and giving comprehensive information and others think we give a little too much. With NY being a big city we prefer erring on the side of caution. Glad you loved the tour. More

I brought a group of students from Hong Kong to sample the wares of what NYC had to offer. Corey did not disappoint. He was informative and gave a wide selection of foods to try at each of the stops. The hi-light for me was the final stop the italian passerica and I would make sure you make room for... More

We participated in the Midtown Mix tour. We found out about this tour thru NY Pass. Absolutely loved the idea of the tour, which was to get you outside the tourist traps to find good, affordable local eateries. The tour met our expectations for the food experience, but exceeded our expectations for the mingling experience. It was so much fun... More

We love that you loved the meeting other people aspect of our tours. Besides the great food that's what it all about. Our tours are a great value with or without a pass because we often save people hundreds of dollars and help them eat great for their whole trip. We have several ticketing options. We also often also offer... More

Me and my girlfriend went on our first day hoping to get some tips and good places to eat and Cory didn't disappoint. The stops were all different ( pizza/dumplings etc) and delicious and the group size was big which led to lots of mingling and socializing over food... exactly what we were told and what we wanted! Would definitely... More

We totally enjoyed our tour of the East Village today. Cory was funny & extremely knowledgeable, the information he provided not just on food but the history of the East Village was excellent. He also provided us with great tips for where to eat in all areas of New York. The 6 places we visited on the tour were diverse... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
