Very unique subway and/or walking experiences available as part of a public tour or as a private tour that is different from most standard guided food tours. We also offer self-guided On Your Own Experiences which are food walk-throughs of various New York neighborhoods and are designed to help save you money over eating in tourist restaurants. We are a true eating tour, not a sampling tour and we also offer restaurant recommendations (as noted in many reviews) on our guided tours to help you eat well and save money for the rest of your trip. You choose what you eat and how much. You'll see non-tourist neighborhoods in a relaxed manner and while on the guided tours you will be mingling with others from around the world in a larger group format. For those who do want to experience great restaurants and save money we offer our Customized Restaurant Concierge Service. This is a personal service available through TripAdvisor based on your lodging location, attractions you are seeing, food preferences and budget. To experience a culture one must experience their cuisine and since New York is the world's melting pot its many cuisines is its shared culture. Food On Foot Tours takes visitors beyond the tourist attractions to the largest buffet in the world, New York. You'll see the neighborhoods where New Yorkers live and eat. You'll share our passion for all things New York and travel the way New Yorkers do, by subway and foot.

With so much choice when it comes to food in this huge city I was so glad that I booked the Food on Foot tour. It was fantastic to get the chance to try so many delicious foods in one tour. Cory was a fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable host who showed us some of the many amazing places to eat... More

The restaurants that we were taken to were pretty good. The taco's were fresh and good value and so were the bakery and the mediterranean kitchen. Although the meatball stop on such a hot day seemed too much for the 3 of us. Corey is knowledgeable about the city, but for me a food tour should have been about the... More

This is a great way to find neighborhood gems in Hell's Kitchen. The owner, Cory, is a self-proclaimed foodie and NY local. Cory takes you to diverse cuisine locations from falafel to tacos and finishes with desserts. Don't eat too much at each stop or you won't make it to the end. This is a walking tour so bring a... We greatly enjoyed this trip and our guide Corey. He certainly knows his way around the good eats in town. We did the east village tour and were not disappointed. Great information about the area and the various food places we visited were great. Some were hole in the walls and some were nice sit down places. This shows that... More

Just finished the tour and had an absolutely fantastic time. Corrie was a superb host with lots of good fun facts and plenty of typically New Yorker energy.

It was a nice experience to visit places you wouldn't go without recommendation. The passionate Guide Corey led is through Hell's Kitchen where we had very good food for reasonable prices. Besides the Tour we got some more recommendations for other places to go for good food in NYC. I would do the Tour again at any Time!

That's a great word to describe us. Thanks. We are passionate about what people eat on their trip to NY before, during and after their tour which is why we offer both guided and self-guided tours. More

The tour guide Cory gave a lot to energy to the tour which was great. But I wasn't a fan on the food stops, the choices didn't meet my expectations. Dumplings, sandwiches and hot dogs were all very average... However the pizza & sweets were great! This tour is a good New York experience - walking around the neighbourhood, checking... More

Food tastes are subjective and based on the reviews most guests disagree with you. We note very clearly we are a smaller item non-gourmet tour. Glad you had fun. More

Booked up not sure what to experience, really pleased we did. Corey took us through a myriad of off map eateries that matched fantastic food with inexpensive food. Good info on history of local community and good advice of other places to visit.

He had such a great time with Corey! We probably wouldn't go if it wasn't part of a New York Pass but it is definetly worth paying. Great food for fantastic prices. All places we probably wouldn't notice or didn't visit without Corey. Just a great experience!!! Highly recommended!

Thank you so much Katerina. We understand you might not have found us if you did not have the pass but we are glad you would have paid for the tour and loved it. More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
