About Food On Foot Tours
We believe in Food Tour Freedom. Whatever ticket type you choose you get to eat what you want and how much you want. We think that's much more fun! Very unique subway and/or walking experiences available as part of a guided public tour or guided private tour that is different from most standard guided food tours. We also offer self-guided On Your Own Experiences which are food walk-throughs of various New York neighborhoods and are designed to help save you money over eating in tourist restaurants. Our self-guided On Your Own Experiences can be used as a tour, a list or as a tour first to sample and you can return to your favorites for full meals. Each Experience also includes some low cost breakfast options near major tourist attractions. Our guided tours are true eating tours, not sampling tours and we also offer restaurant recommendations (as noted in many reviews) on our guided tours to help you eat well and save money for the rest of your trip. You'll see non-tourist neighborhoods in a relaxed manner and while on the guided tours you will be mingling with others from around the world in a larger group format that is much like a field trip. For those who do want to experience great restaurants and save money we offer our Customized Restaurant Concierge Service. This is a personal service available through by contacting us directly that helps you save and eat great based on your lodging location, attractions you are seeing, food preferences and budget. To experience a culture one must experience their cuisine and since New York is the world's melting pot its many cuisines is its shared culture. Food On Foot Tours takes visitors beyond the tourist attractions to the largest buffet in the world, New York. You'll see the neighborhoods where New Yorkers live and eat. You'll share our passion for all things New York and travel the way New Yorkers do, by subway and foot.

My husband and I took tours in 2018 and 2019. We are from New Orleans. Both times we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The portion sizes at each stop were adequate. Corey was always very helpful. He always has good restaurant suggestions. For our next visit, we would like to

An ok tour, it’s not very clear that you actually have to buy the food as well as pay for the tour, I was under the impression the food was included, but it’s not you have to pay for all the food you get from the places he visits with you.

We are sorry this guest did not read the ticket types right on the front of our booking platform before choosing one. Each ticket type has clearly stated information about what you receive with that ticket. Our tours are unique. With our tours you choose what you like and how much no matter which ticket you pick. We think that is much more fun. This guest made an assumption without reading about the tickets. We are sorry for that as we offer tickets with both a pay-as-you-go option and those with a food credit. Either way you can get what you like and enjoy.

Great tour, but the most valuable part was the recommendations for other restaurants. Corey offered up around fifteen places, eight of which we tried during our time in NYC; none disappointed, and all were very reasonably priced, and felt 'local'. Make sure to ask for places

I understand he needs to control a group. But there's a way to speak to adults. When someone has to smile after every sentence.. you get the tone?. Bossy. No fun at all. Crap food choices. Pizza ( wow) taco ( wow) sandwich ( wow). Greek pastry ( wow). Dessert shop.. nice but at

Response from FoodonFoot, Manager at Food On Foot Tours
Responded Jan 6, 2020
We are not going to dignify a response to each point because there is no way you speak for thirty people nor do you speak for the tastes of thirty people nor is most of what you said accurate since we asked "nicely" at the introduction about what we needed to make the tour go smoothly (including safety for a large group). In addition this is a review filled with falsehoods such as saying we had five minutes at each stop. Anyone can figure out that it is not possible to be at a stop for five minutes with thirty people. The guest used words we never did to say we made certain promises. The guest mentioned a taco and then said they wanted a taco? The guest said they wanted Italian but mentioned we had pizza. Does any of this sound credible? If they didn't like what many people consider one of the top five pizza slices in the city there is nothing we can do. Tastes are subjective but the pre-tour information clearly notes we are a non-gourmet tour. We provide our guests comprehensive information at booking and they must agree they read about the tour before they book .It is clear to us the guest either did not read about the tour itself or if they did they did not take to heart the type of tour we offer. We are not a standard food tour. We are a cheap eats experience with unbiased restaurant recommendations for our guests to eat great and save money for their whole trip. As a local we'll tell you the prices on our tours, for the quality of what you get at each stop is a great value. There are lots of cheap eats and most of it is not good. Extortion? (which is what we think you meant). Unfortunately there are plenty of places in this city where you'll pay much more and feel extorted and many of them are right by where we were but we didn't go there. As a tourist most don't know that so it is an important part of the value we provide. We are passionate about food here and really try to help our guests which is why our reviews are overwhelmingly positive.. All the information about the tour was provided in detail in order for you to book the tour so please don't say things that are not true about what was promised, which is what you are doing. We understand our tours are not for everyone and are sorry the tour wasn't for you.
