Like a small town within Manhattan, the Village has narrow tree-lined streets and brick townhouses.

At the very heart of Greenwich Village, known by locals as simply "the Village" one will find Washington Square Park, which in the past was a cemetery. At the Park you'll meet all kinds of people, musicians, dancers, sportsmen/women and many others strolling, relaxing and...More

Ended up here on accident looking some other place but glad we did. This was a nice area to walk around in. We found many people here to be friendly and talkative.

So clean and well preserved with so much character. You can easily spend a whole day in the village wandering the charming residential streets, shops, bars and restaurants. A must on the NYC to do list!

This is a great neighborhood in Manhattan. Its perfect for an afternoon walk. We spent some time here last weekend. Its very vibrant and alive. Its a nice respite from the noise and commotion of Times Square and other parts of Manhattan.

It was a bit confusing to find your way around and expensive in the cafes but the park was lovely and we were treated to some Sunday morning jazz. Good people watching spot on a nice day. Lovely buildings but a bit of a maze,...More

It is the most beautiful neighborhood in Manhattan. Perfect for an afternoon stroll and with many great culinary options. At night go to Smalls, the perfect place to have a Jazz experience.

Worth the effort to get the subway to Greenwich Village. An amazing place. So full of charm. Lots of coffee shops and restaurants. Quaint little shops, and spot the celebrity..

Home to the Beats...Dylan, Baez and Patti Smith...the cultural, intellectual and artistic movement of the early 60's...quintessential enlightened/enlivened urban neighborhood, which makes it a wonderful walkable delightful urban experience.

We strolled through Greenwich Village on a Sunday. The diversity of the folks we encountered was amazing.

Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was
here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter
culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for
its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to
get a feel for this diverse and energetic
neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street
performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the
fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess.
