Maya Hawke at Joe’s Pub
May 2020 • Family
In February 2020 we enjoyed an evening in Joe’s Pub watching Maya Hawke perform with her band. It’s a small, intimate setting, with good food and great music!

Thoughtful, Provocative Theatre at Great Prices
Jan 2020
Plays at the Public Theatre are always thought-provoking but never more so than in their Under the Radar series that runs every winter (now thru Jan 19). For $30 you can see some of the world's most daring and interesting plays featuring fresh actors and stylish direction.

A Bright Room Called Day
Dec 2019 • Couples
Finally got a chance to see Tony Kushner, first play written at the NYC Public Theater. Hadn’t been to the Public in a while and it’s really amazing the upgrade they have made. It has the best upcoming plays and theater experiences at a reasonable price and there was not a bad seat. I believe they have 4 active theaters on site. Check out the Public

For Colored Girls

Absolutely fabulous performance, in every way. Comfortable venue, except for multiple theaters and cafes. Serious "people traffic" and long wait issues getting from extremely crowded lobby to theater

For Colored Girls...
Nov 2019
We caught a matinee of For Colored Girls...It was a delight of theater, song, dancing, poetry and acting. It is a performance piece not easily fit not any one genre or style. It was uplifting and exciting. The players pour their hearts into the performance. Outstanding theater!

Excellent venue
Mar 2019
We have seen several shows here, the latest being "Socrates" with Michael Stuhlbarg. This is an excellent venue and very comfortable, unlike many theaters in NYC.

Shakespeare and picnic
Aug 2018 • Friends
One of the best things about NY is the free performance of Shakespeare by great actors/actresses. A picnic basket with a bottle of something white and chilled, cashew nuts, crustless sandwiches, sliced fruits, and kettle chips. You can't beat it. It's a cheap but ideal date. You don't have to break the bank to impress. You do have to get there early.

Half the price of Broadway with twice the atmosphere and entertainment!
May 2019 • Couples
Val and I just saw Socrates with Michael Stuhlbarg in the lead role. Bravo, Amazing, Great Performances!
I also enjoyed that the theater was small and with no bad seats.
This was my first time here and it won’t be my last. I’m soooo tired of the over priced broadway plays that this was like a breath of fresh air.
We’ll be back.
