This summer I spent a wonderful four day weekend in New Hampshire with Hines Tours. The weekend started out with rain on the drive up from NYC including occasional downpours; however, Nik drove the van seamlessly and safely. Thankfully, the sun emerged as we entered the state of New Hampshire. The first stop was at The Flume which is a natural gorge which had spectacular falls and breathtaking scenery. Later that day, we arrived at our motel in a charming town called Gorham which boasted adorable shops, historical buildings including a church and an old railroad stop, a unique coffee house with a piano player in the afternoon and evenings, and a few quaint restaurants. Over the next three days the itinerary was filled with natural gems in the White Mountain Region of New Hampshire. This included Franconia Notch State Park, Echo Lake, Glen Ellis Falls, Sabbaday Falls, and an incredible site called The Old Man and the Mountain, which was once a great stone face that overlooked Profile Lake. Each stop was more breathtaking than the last. We had the opportunity to walk, hike, swim, or just relax and take in the scenery. The highlight of the trip was Mount Washington State Park, located atop the highest peak in the Northeast. Mount Washington has its own weather center and, an interesting side note, the highest wind velocity on the world was clocked there. Although we had to bundle up before we ascended, it was a welcome respite from the summer heat. I can’t recommend Hines Tours enough for those of you who enjoy nature, beauty, and learning about incredible sites you might not have an opportunity to explore on your own.

These tours deserve more than five stars! I have  been to at least 10, and each was thoroughly planned, perfectly implemented, and filled with exciting activities. Nik is the most considerate and humble guide, he takes care of all details so that the customers did not have to think about anything other than being back to the bus on time. On the road coffee stops are frequent, and Nik will accommodate your needs between the planned stops if necessary. I just went on a weekend in Pennsylvania trip.  it was a lot of fun with a lot of exploration, from caves to the highest walkway, with hikes, safari, chasing elks and even hidden gems in between. Definitely the most pleasant memorable experience. Looking forward to the next Hines journey.

Hines Tour to Arizona and Utah, November 5 -- 9, 2022 was excellent value, had a comprehensive, detailed itinerary to Hoover Dam Overlook walk, Grand Canyon Deer Farm, Sedona Hikes, Grand Canyon Bus to 9 viewing sights, also Hines Van drove to another viewing site, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, Sandal Trail, Horse Bend for sunset. Unable to visit Antelope Canyon and Coral Pink Sand Dunes due to heavy snow, instead visited many more interesting sites. Large room accommodations, a/c and heating, refrigerator, coffee maker, no issues with sink/shower, breakfasts. Small group, 6 persons.

I have been traveling with Hines Tours for over a decade. Hines tours has allowed me to explore places and have experiences and adventures that I would have never been able to do or would have known about otherwise. Nik Hines tours are a combination of natural wonders and historic sites. Nik goes the extra mile and takes his guests to places off the beaten path and places that are not easily accessible by public transportation. For example, during a weekend trip to Central Pennsylvania, he made a surprise stop to a place off the map called Centralia which was a once thriving but now abandoned mining town. Likewise, during a trip to South Dakota, Nic made an extra stop to a unique place where you can feed and interact with Prairie Dogs.
Throughout the years, I have brought friends with me on Nik’s tours who then became regulars. Some friends were merely recruited simply by viewing pictures from my adventures on Facebook.
During COVID 19, Hines Tours was probably the only tour company that was still operational. Nik was able to execute this safely by: being flexible with the itinerary; having a smaller group size to allow for social distancing; taking guest’s temperatures; and ensuring everyone wear a mask.
Nik has a zest for nature which becomes infectious after spending time with him. It is clear that he truly loves what he does, and I feel that joining Nik on his tours has enriched my life.

I have been on almost every Hines Tour that has been available over several years. The only tours not taken were because I had a personal conflict with the dates. What makes me come, back time and again, to book a Hines, one-day-tour is not only the excellent itineraries which include interesting historic tourist sites, scenic beauty and even challeging hikes, but also the convenience of leaving the driving to someone else and the entire package which includes a tour guide with information on the site and is able to lead the way on a hike if help is needed not to get lost or just to lend a hand to climb over slippery rock formations. The is value is excellent, including early morning bagel, cream cheese, juice and a delicious lunch. The president of the company, Nik, puts his guests first...makes sure that everyone has fun and a good time.

1. A weekend trip to Lake George with Hines Tour on 07/25 – 07/27/20. After been indoor for so long there is nothing better than to go outdoor with nature. Therefore, I book this trip to enjoy a little of nature and history. It was breathtaking. During this trip, we explored Ausable Chasm enjoyed the view and walked the trails. We visited Lake George’s Fort for some reenactment of history as we learned how Lake George came to be. After that we took a one-hour trip in a boat through the lake. It was fantastic. We had some time for us, I decided to wonder around town and went to the beach and visited some local store. At the end of our trip, we did one last stop. We went to the top of a mountain where we could appreciate nature, the view of the town and enjoy the wind. The food and accommodations were great as the attention and professionalism of our guide Nik. He followed all safety procedures for the time we are living at this moment. I highly recommend this tour to everyone.

Excellent, organized day trips from NYC. I have been travelling with Hines Tours since 2011, and I haven't been disappointed. Each tour is on a clean bus/van and we're provided with breakfast, lunch, and snack. I would recommend Cape May dolphin/whale watch, Bushkills Falls, Howe Caverns, Alpaca farm, and Christmas Village tours. Tour guide is friendly and courteous.

I was astounded when I arrived for my trip to the Amish Country to find Nik in his car and not the usual van. The fact that he actually took the time to go on a tour with three people, four including himself, is amazing. Nik is truly the type of tour guide to go above and beyond for those on his tours. A wonderful guide with whom I will continue to go on tours because he always gives 100%. The best tour guide around.

I went on my first Hines Tour and it definitely won't be the last! Our guide Nick was very personable, patient, and organized. He created a fun-filled day through PA to see a living history colonial farm that was like a small version of Colonial Williamsburg. We saw many people wearing period clothes who were knowledgeable about the time period and how people cooked and made clothing, tools, and more. Plus there were farm animals and a staged skirmish from the French-Indian War. It was like being on a period movie set! That alone would have been worth the journey, but we then had a buffet lunch and a trip to beautiful Longwood Gardens, where we were able to spend ample time enjoying the greenhouse and the amazing grounds. Plus we got a bonus stop to a beautiful mansion and gardens that wasn't on the original itinerary! I highly recommend this specific tour and plan to go on more.

Our Hines tour with Nick was an action-packed, fun-filled day that came just in time to forget the trying times of pandemic. First stop was the Museum Village Holiday Event in Upstate New York, then the Alpaca Farm, (Fell in love with the sheep) followed by a couple of Christmas lights displays. Nick is detailed oriented, and thoughtful. He thinks of everyones needs. The restaurant choice was great. The day had a surprise spectacular holiday ending of the ERDAJT Holiday Light Dislay in Lagrangeville, New York. The light Display that holds the Guinness World Record, a symbol of Dad’s love for his family. It was a truly a wonderful tour! My son and I will plan another trip with Nick at HinesTours.com
