About Arthur Avenue Food Tours
We're a 101-year-old family business on Arthur Avenue, first a fish store, then a butcher shop, now a food tour company. Come be a guest at our family table! Little Italy in the Bronx, otherwise known as “Arthur Avenue” is New York’s real Little Italy. This unique enclave tucked between the Bronx Zoo and the New York Botanical Garden has been an Italian neighborhood since the early 1900s. Within 6 city blocks there are over two dozen Italian shops and restaurants, many of which have been open for over 100 years! Our tours have been featured on CNN Travel, USA Today's 10 Best, Los Angeles Times, AP, NY1 and in The New Yorker. First time visitors often choose our signature Shopping & Tasting Tour for an introduction to the neighborhood. If you have a big appetite, book the Pizza, Pasta & Parm Tour, offered Friday and Saturday afternoons. On Sunday, we do a classic family style meal at three of Little Italy's most iconic spots. We also offer private tours by appointment.

I asked my wife to take off on Friday, that I had planned a date day. While I pride myself as being a romantic, planning is not my forte. We drove to the Bronx with my wife throwing out guesses all the way. We arrived and she said “oh the Bronx zoo”. I said maybe but let’s grab a coffee on Arthur Avenue first. Three sips later Danielle showed up and the surprise was revealed! We had an awesome time and Danielle was the perfect guide, her love for the neighborhood, the people, the culture and the food was infectious. A must do!

A group of us went on the tour for a friend’s birthday. We all live in the NYC area but have never been to this neighborhood and by the end of the tour we were kicking ourselves that it took this long. The tour was both fun and informative. We saw things we otherwise would have never discovered on our own. For instance, we saw the back area of a bakery famous for its coal oven baked bread, and visited some of the shops not on the tourist track. We agreed we learned a lot about the area’s history, and now we know where to get the best ravioli, pizza, olive oil, super Tuscan wine, mozzarella, etc. We’re definitely coming back as a result of this tour.

My husband, daughter and I took this tour for my daughter’s 23rd birthday celebration. Christian’s tour was the BEST. His knowledge of the neighbor, food, wine was impressive. Go hungry because there is a lot of food to sample. I wish I had some eggplant parmigiana right now...it was delicious! I would highly recommend this tour you will not be disappointed!!!!

I brought a group of 39 people from upstate to the Bronx with a visit to Arthur Avenue. I have been there many times before, but had not taken a tour. I wanted to add something different to our experience this time; consequently, I arranged a food tour with Arthur Avenue Food Tours. I could not have made a better decision. We separated into two groups - one with Danielle and one with Christian, I was among the latter. My personal opinion is that Christian was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, patient and energetic about his Italian heritage and his love of the Arthur Avenue area. He provided wonderful stories of the neighborhood and input as to where to shop for what items. And, as if that were not enough, we got to try pizza, a variety of sample sandwiches, breads and cheeses and topped it off with an amazing cannoli. My feedback from the other group was that Danielle was excellent as well. I would not hesitate to bring another group for a tour with Arthur Avenue Food Tours.
