I went to Dashing Diva in Brooklyn to get mani/pedis with a friend. A regular mani/pedi for $45 did not include some callus removal so we opted for the $60 deal, which came with a scrub and massage on hands and feet. All in all it was a very blah experienced, we felt like they tried to process us quickly, the scrubs were very quick, the massages even shorter although fairly good. My old nail polish was not properly removed, my cuticles had not been treated properly either, they also did not clean very well under the nails. I did not want nail polish but said I wanted my nails buffed. Suddenly they wanted to charge $5 extra for that!!! And they insisted on tips once it came down to paying the bill. I complained to the manager about all the above but she just giggled, said sorry, and shoved us out the door. I do my own mani/pedi better than what they did in this salon. Very disappointing.

happy to have a place open at night - clean and efficient

I was really rushed and needed a manicure. This place was open so I popped in. The manager did the manicure and it was a very good one, done quickly and cleanly.

Great manicure

I don't know what is with all the bad reviews. I went here on a Saturday without an appointment and I was in a huge rush. They told me it would be a 15 minute wait and I really thought they were just telling me anything to get me to stay but it really was only 15 minutes on the dot. The manicure lasted almost two weeks (ok I put my own top coat on a few times but still). They even gave me a bottle of water while I was waiting. Definitely worth the higher price.

Bait and Switch!

I walked in asking for a gel manicure. I showed the manager my 3 broken nails and wanted to see the actual UV-brand gel they used. She quoted a total price of $60 and told me to come back 20 minutes later.
When I returned, the manager told me it would be $80 because of my broken nails. Now out of time, I agreed, but moments later I was faced by three more staff members who spoke among themselves and I was told it would be $90, no, $100. Actually, it would be $110 !
What happened to the $60 quoted? They shrugged. They would not compromise on $80, which is the top price I've ever heard for UV gel nails.
I walked out.

Uncomfortable And Awkward-No English Spoken Here
Well, it is a beautiful and very clean place, BUT, the woman that did my nails was SUPER aggressive, to the point of almost ripping my coat off, grabbing my coat cuffs and folding them up pulling my fingers to put on the polish, and did a painfully vigorous massage on my hands.

And this woman did not speak or understand ONE word of English. There was an obvious hangnail, and I asked her to cut it, she didn't even understand the word "cut". I was the only person in the salon, and this woman kept talking to me in some odd language, and I could not understand her, and all the other nail technicians would stare at me and giggle.

The only time the nail technician actually spoke English, was when she ordered me to put my handbag down, and I refused. She was bossy and oddly pushy and it I was VERY uncomfortable..

I mean, why can't this woman learn at least some basic English words? We are in the US, aren't we? I really felt as if I were in a different country. I will NEVER go back there. I could not wait to leave.

Besides all that, the manicure was OK, she did leave some hangnails, and the place is very new and clean, but I will never go back there. That woman was frightening....
