Our family of 6 booked a private tour of NYC and it was amazing! This was our third time booking with Real New York Tours and it would be first on my list of things to schedule again the next time we are in NYC. Luke was our tour guide this time and he is amazing! He is so friendly and welcoming. There is nothing like learning about the city through the eyes of someone who has gown up in the city. We were able to go over many different parts of the city and learn things that we would not have been able to do on our own. I agree with other reviewers...schedule this tour at the beginning of your trip so you can get recommendations of things to do and places to eat.
I can't recommend Real New York Tours enough...I've always been impressed with their tours and tour guides. You won't be disappointed!

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour of downtown NYC with Luke. He was excellent at sharing facts and historical information while keeping the tour informative and fun. The food stops along the way (donuts, pizza and Chinese dumplings) were awesome as well. What a great way to see the city and we will definitely tour with him again when we return.

Luke and the whole team at Real New York Tours were extremely competent, knowledgeable, friendly and flexible. They tailored the entire tour to meet our needs, a high school choir group from Michigan - my students loved it. Plus the price easily fit our budget. Highly recommended!

Our family booked a 6-hour, private walking tour with Luke and it was a really great experience as we explored the hot spots of NYC, Greenwich, Soho, China Town, Little Italy and Brooklyn. Luke was extremely engaging and shared heaps of interesting stories along the way about the city, the people and the buildings which is what made this tour so enjoyable. He was also really accommodating to our interests, constantly asking us if there were any places we wanted to visit and things we wanted to see, but also took us to places that we would never think of going ourselves. Furthermore, I highly recommend that you book this tour in the first few days of your trip as it is helpful to learn how to use the subways, navigate the street grid system, get food recommendations and more, before exploring on your own.

The best tour we've been on! I celebrated my husband's birthday by taking him and another couple on this tour. We've all lived in NYC and have incredibly fond and fun memories of our years there. I was looking for a tour filled with history and fun facts that you wouldn't get on a typical NYC tour as a 'tourist'. Luke was beyond knowledgeable, and we learned so many fun facts about buildings and neighborhoods we've all walked by and through, and never even took notice of. He was also incredibly flexible when we asked if we could detour down a different street and was able to answer every question we had. Aside from the neighborhoods and buildings, Luke shared a keen interest in the people who have made up this great city. Luke is incredibly easy-going, fun, curious, conversational, and a pleasure to spend a day with! We will definitely do this again with more friends. If you're on the fence, book it! You won't regret it!

We had a great tour in New York! It was a walking & subway tour, and our tour guide, Gardner, was exceptional in knowledge and personality. We would highly recommend this tour, but also recommend a good pair of walking shoes, because there is a lot of walking involved. Everything was perfect! Thank you, Real New York Tours for the experience!

Our family of 6, older teens, young adults, and parents, took a 6 hour personal tour of the city, in late May, with Trey. Trey was an excellent host for this first time visiting family. Every area of the city we visited (and see the city we did! Trey kept us hopping from one area to the next, insuring we got the most out of our time), he had wonderful stories, fun facts, and interesting tidbits to share. We were all throughly charmed and fascinated by the sights and stories. The six hours flew by, leaving us wanting for more. We can't wait to go back for a second visit and booking another tour with this company and specifically with Trey, whom we now consider our NYC friend.

Our 6.5 hour tour with Real New York Tours was the absolute highlight of our trip! Our tour guide, Lawrence, was top notch! My friend has gone on two separate tours with each of her boys and she raved about both of her guides too. So, I’m guessing you will be lucky no matter who your guide is as long as you go with RealNewYorkTours.com Enjoy!!

This was our 5th time using Real New York Tours over the years as I bring someone who hasn't seen New York before (mostly my children). We had Lawrence who took us on the historical tour. Our 14 year old son was with us. Lawrence gave us enormously interesting information, really entertained all of us, but especially Heath with interesting stories and wonderful places. The walk was great. Lawrence was incredibly knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him. He was so pleasant and fun too. I also want to mention that when I booked this tour, the owners knew I had started using their service in 2011. I was impressed! You cant beat these wonderful tours to really see New York and learn about it.

I was not certain that I'd make the tour due to travel concerns - I spoke with Luke on the telephone and expressed my concern that I might not make it - he told me to use the cash option when I booked online - they require a credit card number, but won't charge it if you can't make it. Luke just asked that I keep him informed if I couldn't make the tour.

Most of us arrived before the guide, but we found each other because we were all milling about awkwardly. It was pretty obvious that we were waiting for a tour! And the guide, when he arrived, made an extra effort to ensure that all of us were there, including calling this one guy multiple times to try to link him up with the rest of the group. They aren't going to leave you, trust me.

Where do I need to make payment for these tours? Also I am in NWR for 1.5 days and would like to make most out of my stay watching the city. I am an amateur photographer and would love to see and click places in day and also evening. Please suggest me some options.
