Straight away it felt like home. Meatpacking is like Melbourne on steroids. It's full of the coolest boutique shops, cafes and restaurants. May I also mention beautiful people! I've never seen such cool human beings! It's definitely good that "cool" vibe. People are so lovely,...More

It was at the end of our walk along the High Line which we found very average and with a lot of buildings crammed in at the sides, no view and not that well maintained. We went fairly early on a Saturday morning and there...More

This district has been transformed from industrial to high-end shopping and eating. I remember it when it was dangerous. Now the only danger is that you will spend too much money.

Very historical. Well restored and good amount of shopping here. Also very close to the entry of the high line so worth a small detour.

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you

Use mass transit. It can be awful to walk in the hot summer all those city blocks. You can rent a bicycle.
