I booked this tour as a Christmas present for my mum and sister while we were in New York, and it turned out (in my opinion) to be a highlight of our stay. Our tour guide Bert made sure everybody was completely comfortable right from the outset. He was so knowledgeable about the area, history and the food, and was... More

Curt was our very fabulous tour guide for the original Greenwich village. He kept us moving and entertained, but definitely not rushed. There is so much food on the tour and the portions are not skimpy. We made the mistake of eating brunch two hours before the tour, so we were hitting our food limit by the end, so maybe... More

We booked the Chelsea Markets tour for the day after our arrival in NYC. After a long flight from Australia, we weren't sure it was the smartest thing to do but it was the only time we could fit it in to our itinerary. We were so thrilled that we made the effort to get up for this tour because... More

We loved hearing about the history of the area, meeting new people and learning about how foods are made and tasting some amazing things. Our tour guide Kurt Was the absolute best. His energy was so fun and we learned so much! He went out of our way to make sure we had a blast!!

Recently did the Chelsea Market food tour. This is a great place to visit, very diversified and all under one roof. Curt was a our guide, very high energy, humorous and informative. He made it a point to get to know everyone on the tour, there were 14 of us so this was no small feat. This tour starts out... More

This was one of the best tours I've ever been on. Our tour guide, Raheem, was knowledgeable, entertaining and very personable. He lead us through 3 hours of delicious eating while we learned about the history of the food and surrounding neighborhoods. We were a group of jaded New Yorkers and out-of-towners and all thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend this... More

If you think your kids wouldn't enjoy a tour like this then think again! We took our 11 year old twin boys on the Greenwich Village tour and they had a blast. We all did! RJ was brilliant at engaging us all and entertaining as well as educating us about the area and its foods. High points- Joe's pizza, the... More

Looking for a fun, delicious and informative way to see Chinatown or just another piece of NYC? This is just the thing to do. Raheem was our guide and he is magnificent. He's done his food and history homework. He makes it a point to make this tour special. You eat at 3 different restaurants then get dessert. In between... More

We ate great food at 8 wonderful places and learned about history and architecture in Greenwich Village. Seth Meyers also walked by. RJ was engaging and well educated about the restaurants and history of Greenwich Village. Dress appropriately, it is a 3 hour tour with a 1.5 mile walk. We had a great time.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
