Fantastic and well worth it. "Bobby Pinn" was so knowledgeable about the history of the East Village and the music, and was very engaging, fielded all the questions and got everyone involved. He and the tour was so good I bought his book and reading through it he was very much a part of the music industry and it showed in his tour. If you are a music fanatic like me (Zeppelin, Lou Reed, Television, The Clash, The Ramones to name a few) it is worth it.

Brilliant tour. I’d wondered beforehand how it might fill the 2 hours, but the time flew by. I did the Greenwich Village tour, which covered the 50s and 60s folk revival and Bob Dylan but also Hendrix, Patti Smith and the stand up comedy scene in the 80s and 90s. The guide was very knowledgeable and engaging, and tailored his information to what our small group was interested in. One of the best tours I’ve ever done - highly recommended to anyone interested in rock music, or just popular culture in the 60s.

I ended up having the privilege of doing the tour solo because other people cancelled. Bobby was a terrific guide and you could tell it’s genuine enthusiasm to share the rich musical history of a neighbourhood that is otherwise overlooked. Even though some of the places don’t exist anymore, it was awesome to walk some of the streets and check some of the spots where the Ramones, Iggy Pop, Charlie Parker and many more lived and hung out back in the day. The book Bobby sells is also well worth the 20 bucks and complements the tour nicely and provides further insights. Definitely highly recommended!

Great and unique tour to historical Punk Rock sites in the East Village. Bobby is a true original, he knew the protagonists and loves his NYC Punk Rock. Almost like an archeologist he unveils the many layers of pop culture history embedded in the city scape. Tour includes funny anectdotes, suprising facts, cool photo ops and then some. Highly recommended!

We booked The Rock Junket Woodstock NY Tour.
Our tour guide, Larry was awesome. Professor of Rock History in The Woodstock/Bearsville NY Scene.
Inside look at The New Bearsville Theater, Utopia Studios, Town of Woodstock, Woodstock Cemetary gravesite of Rock Icons……
Easily a day trip as the tour is given on Saturday’s @ 2:00pm and lasts around 2 1/2 Hours. Cost $44 pp. Limited to 6 people per tour.
You will not be disappointed! This is a must do…….

Did the Woodstock, NY & Bearsville Theater walking tour
Larry was the tour guide and he was a wealth of information.
Very knowledgeable and friendly.
Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Janis Joplin, Todd Rundgren, The Band, etc.
History and restoration of Bearsville Theater was interesting. Once
Covid is no longer a concern, shows in an intimate venue will
be wonderful. The restoration was clearly a labor of love which is
all addressed in the tour.

When we take trips, I usually research on my own and formulate my own little tours. It was such a delight to join Joe as he showed us around Greenwich village. He had great knowledge of the history of the city and some interesting facts. He joked around with our teens and made them comfortable. All of us were engaged. He gave us great advice on where to eat lunch and he was so right! This was a rescheduled tour due to Covid. Everyone in NY had masks on and they were being very responsible. It felt very safe.

We had a wonderful walking tour with Joe around Greenwich Village. It was fun to get the stories from a local who knows his stuff. Lots of fun tidbits and a great way to see the Village and historical spots. Joe was delightful and very personable. I especially loved the photos and visuals he had with him to give more context to the spots we visited. This was a highlight of our trip to NYC and we highly recommend it.

I did the Woodstock tour and it was just amazing. Larry had so much local knowledge and such interesting facts about all of the bands and musicians. The tour was exactly what I was hoping- a guide who knows the local people and music scene intimately. Can’t wait to go on another one. Larry was also an eloquent gentleman and interesting person.

I did this tour of the Lower East side 15 years ago and it’s still just as good. Bobby is extremely knowledgeable on both the history of the area and the music.
You won’t find a more authentic tour guide & his book is a great read too.
