The place itself would be almost awesome if it wouldn't be so damn crowded that you cannot even see 10 meters in front of you. Otherwise it's pretty impressive to even look around - hard to process what you see ;)

Times Square is something fun to do for first timers. It makes a good picture and there's lots of shops. However, it is so busy and crowded there that it can be overwhelming and exhausting.

This place was absolutely fab. We sat down in the glorious sunshine and were in total awe of the sight around us. The flashing neon signs to the hustle and bustle of the crowds on the streets was amazing. The queue for the ticket booth blew us away. A sight to remember .

Times Square is a real spectacle with lots going on at all times of the day and night....even the rain didn't put us off! A must see after dark when all the billboards light up the square. It's one of the world's busiest pedestrian intersections so be careful not to lose anyone!!

It is a busy place but not as busy as we expected. There is a lot of work going on so it was untidy. Full of 'superheroes' wanting you to pay them to have a photo with them and there are beggars galore even young men in wheelchairs pretending to nod off to sleep, one doing you can believe but... Of course a very different experience that is fun to sit and watch people!! Understanding that the costumed people are looking to make money by having pictures taken with them and disappointed when they don't get tipped and punch people(a woman) in the face without any instigation is definitely a disappointment! Worth seeing at least once but much more to... More

Our hotel the Mela was located here 44th street and Seventh Avenue, we were told that the lights never get switched of , you are always drawn back to Times square so got your hotel close.

Walking around the square is a must in NYC. It is sure to be crowded but what else do you expect in NYC.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
