Everyone must walk Fifth Avenue. Start at the Empire State Building on 33rd Street and continue to Central Park at 59th. Make sure to stop in at the many shops along the way including Cartier, Uniqlo, Saks Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center, Trump Tower, St. Patrick's Cathedral.

A walk down Fifth Avenue will delight you with all the Christmas themed decorated windows. The best is the window of Saks.

Luxury stores on this street, especially close to Trump Tower. I would not shop anything on this street, but worth a walk if you're in the neighborhood.

There is never a time when I walk 5th Avenue that I am not in awe of all that is there, all that is symbolized by the mix of tourists from all over the world and locals working in the high rise offices. New York is magical...5th Avenue is the most magical

It is worth walking across 5th avenue even if you dont want to buy. It is always impressive the amount of people all year long that walk here. You get to see all sorts of brands from the most luxurious brands to other more affordable. Also along 5th Avenue you can visit St Patricks Cathedral which is an astonishing church... More

Well Paris has the Champs Elysee and Manhattan has the Fifth Avenue. A wide and very long road full of upscale shops. It's the home of brands designers shops. A must visit while in Manhattan.

We love shopping and I haven't been to a more appropriate place in my life. I visited NY over Christmas and had to stop by The Saks windows every single day to see the beautiful windows. 5th Avenue is heaven for shoppers and we managed to find most high end designer boutiques selling at ridiculously reduced prices. This is a... More

We were there twice, December and January. Shop window displays are fantastic. Go over to Madison to Barney's and Tod's too.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
