Recently I went to New York on vacation with my mom. The first thing I told her was that I really wanted to watch a Broadway Show. So we did. It was the best experience I had on that week (except the time we lost on the queue to buy the tickets with 50% off). The Ambassador Theatre has a... More

Excellent show that was entertaining and delivered with enthusiasm. If you have seen the movie then the show is a must. We sat next to a couple from LA who had seen it 8 times.

It's a good show BUT it does not deliver the Broadway experience. The set is none existent and there are no costume changes. They may be going for minimalist but it just comes across as lazy. Cast are great but they don't save the show!

Went to this excited about the reviews. This show has been going for years and has had big name actors like Patrick swayze, Linda carter. Christie Brinkley play in it. But not this time. It felt like the orchestra was put on the stage to make up for lack of props and stage production. The singers and dancers had a... More

The theatre was smaller than I expected and before the curtain rose, I was.....apprehensive. The show was fabulous- all performances were great. The show is full of humour and poignancy. I loved the interaction between the performers as well as between them and the audience and the conducter. Orchestra fantastic and every (memorable) song was 'on-point' and thoroughly entertaining. Highly... More

The show is phenomenal. The music will stick with you for a long time. The dancing is superb and sexy. yes, I have seen it over 60 times both in the West End (where the production ended in 2012) and on Broadway and I keep going back to NYC just to see it again and again, with different actors. The... More

I have just visited from the UK with my family and we went to see this show. We got our tickets from TKTS - half price. One tip - ask the agent for the best seats they can offer and where they are as we were told we were 15 rows back in the orchestra which was true but it... More

The Ambassador Theater is crowded, very few bathrooms and the people were escorted next door to use their facilities during the break. The people working were not friendly and it really wasn't worth the money. Someone said it was appropriate for kids, but there is a lot of vulgar language and the costumes are a little revealing. I know it... More

I recommend it a lot. Great musical. I was only a little bit shocked because of the dress code. In Europe there is business casual dress code or even business. In the USA it was totally cool :)

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
