About 9/11 Tribute Museum
The 9/11 Tribute Museum is a project of the September 11th Families’ Association which brings together those who want to learn about 9/11 with those who experienced it. The 9/11 Tribute Museum invites visitors to share personal stories of the 9/11 community — family members who lost loved ones, survivors, first responders and rescue workers, civilian volunteers, and community residents whose healing is a testament to the perseverance of the human spirit. We provide an understanding of the loss and impact of 9/11 while inspiring the power of resilience and recovery.

Not to be confused with the 9/11 Museum and Memorial at Ground Zero, the 9/11 Tribute Museum focuses on the stories of those affected by 9/11 and their legacies. Very deep, emotional, and touching. The amount of information is just right, not too much, not too little.

Preordered the One World Observatory & 9/11 Tribute Museum Combo for our visit. Couldn't go to the museum. Then when we went to the One World Observatory, they wouldn't honor the tickets - they said they had often seen people with this combo but they couldn't accept it. We had to purchase completely new tickets in order to go up to the observatory. Spent about as much on these new tickets on the ones we preordered from the site. We are still awaiting a refund from them, but would not recommend ordering anything from their website especially if you are interested in going to the observatory. Disappointing day to say the least.

I purchased a ticket in advance along with a ticket to the 9/11 Memorial Museum. Ticket noted the hours for the Tribute Museum on a Sunday as 10-5. I went to the other museum first but left with enough time for the Tribute Museum. Got there about 3:15. Upon arrival was told the museum closes at 4. I knew that would not be enough time for me. Requested a refund because the hours on my ticket were incorrect and I needed more time. Refund was granted after speaking with manager. Was not a fan of manager's attitude.

Considering that the city wouldn't allow an actual walking tour as a group due to COVID, this was an excellent experience. The personal stories and experiences of tour guides who were at ground zero during or after the attacks made everything much more real. As one who was far away from NYC and didn't know anyone who was lost in any of the attacks this personal touch made a huge difference. This was especially the case when I immediately after did the 911 National Memorial and Museum walk. I would highly suggest sound the Tribute walk before walking yourself through the National. It will make the experience of seeing the artifacts and tower remains more intimate and personal. Completely worth every penny and I would do it every year, if possible. Love and hugs to all 700+ guides at Tribute. Thank you for sharing your lives with us.

Family of 4 with children aged 10 and 13 visited the Museum. Truly moving experience speaking to 2 guides who had both lost family members during the 9/11 attacks. Their personal stories showed how brave they were to share the memories of their loved ones who were no longer there. The museum has plenty of artifacts but if you want to just see those, I would recommend the 9/11 Memorial Museum. This is more to hear from either survivors or surviving family members. A must-see visit.
