I actually wondered if I missed it, but it's mislocated on this map.
The turtle pond is located in front of Belvedere castle, right before the great lawn, and is indeed full of turtles.
We visited Central Park on a sunny windy day, and lots of turtles were enjoying the heat on stones located around the pond.
Pairing the turtle pond with a nice walk to Belvedere castle makes up for a pleasant time. From there, we then headed back to the concrete jungle.
If you are tired of skyscrapers, come here and you will feel in a different world.

Turtle pond is a nice pond with plenty of things to do and see around it like: Belvedere castle, King Jagiello statue, the Great Lawn, and Delacorte theater. The pond itself is also really nice and full of cute turtles that are often laying on the rocks along the “shore”. It’s worth a visit!

This is a small pond in Central Park that attracts quite a bit of wildlife and is a fairly quiet area of the park. There are some good views of New York City from here and this is a really good photo opportunity.

The turtle pond in Central Park is a nice sizeable pond. Like many aspects of Central Park l, natural approach is favoured. Excellent.

Great place to hang out in Central Park, offering scenic views of Belvedere Castle. It’s pretty in the winter, when the water is frozen.

Walking through Central Park with my lover and Turtle Pond was high on her list. So many turtles! They are extremely familiar with humans apparently because they will come right up to greet you. Really enjoyed our time here. Highly recommended!

Very peaceful and quite secluded the Turtle Pond is located close to The Great Lawn.
On a hot day you see masses of turtles both in the water and on land.
A lovely place to view wildlife
Highly Recommend
