If you are near Grand Central Station, take ten minutes to step inside the lobby of The Chrysler Building. You cannot go upstairs but definitely look up because the ceiling is wonderful. While you can take pictures inside, you cannot take a video.

The architecture of this building is truly amazing! It is so beautiful at night when light up and equally as breathtaking during the day. A must see for sure!

This building is a Meca for achitecture lovers. Not the highest building, as we all know. But it is in fact the most breathtaking one from Manhattan's Skyline.

Beautiful both inside and out. Although you cannot go into the building itself, you can visit the Art Deco lobby. The lobby was not even open when we visited but we managed to get some festive pictures in front of their Christmas tree.

This is an iconic building but not really an attraction in that you can only access the first floor lobby. If you are nearby, definitely stop in and see the lobby but don't make a special trip unless you are an architecture or Art Deco buff. You can enter the building and take pictures on the first floor but you... More

It is not possible to go atop of the building to see the views, but it is amazing to enjoy it from the down. The Chrysler Building is an art deco style skyscraper in New York City, located on the east side of Manhattan in the Turtle Bay area at the intersection of 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue. With 319... More

The Empire State building may be taller, and One World Trade Centre tallest in New York City, but the Chrysler Building is unsurpassed as a thing of beauty. The Chrysler Building is built in Art Deco style. Just looking at it gives one a thrill of pleasure. Midtown Manhattan has a number of buildings which are little more than functional,... More

The Empire State Building may be the most iconic NYC skyscraper, but the Chrysler is the most beautiful and artfully designed building in NYC and arguably the entire U. S. Certainly, this is a matter of opinion, but do not miss an up close and personal inspection of this stunningly compelling sight.

This building does not have an observation deck. Security will only allow you to visit the lobby and only within a roped off area. The lobby is gorgeous, but I would have liked to be able to at least wander around in it.

I never feel like I've actually arrived in New York City until I see this magnificent building looming overhead. At night, it's like a beacon with its illuminated top. During the day, binoculars help me to pick out the eagles on the corners of the 61st floor and replicas of the 1929 Chrysler radiator caps on the 31st floor. On... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
