Although we didn't go into the building, this is still a very impressive landmark, it's design and reflection of the sunshine make it a great attraction

As others have said, if you are close by then worth a walk to see it. That said, it's equally impressive from afar and actually easier to get a sense of its scale.

I want to start by saying this is my favorite skyscraper in Manhattan. This is Art Deco design at its finest. Most people only see the ornate chrome spire and cupola of the building. The lobby is definitely worth a visit as well. I love the elevator doors, each it's own unique design, and the mural is a must see... More

The Chrysler building was NYC's tallest high rise for 11 months, when the Empire State Building was completed. It's one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in the world. It's an iconic part of the New York City skyline. Tours are available, but simply stepping into the lobby is breathtaking. At night, the top is lighted and can... More

What a beauty this building is. The shining Art Deco stainless steel facade is truly magnificent! The lobby is elegant, and this is an example of one of New York City at it's finest! A must visit for locals as well as tourists. I miss the days when I worked in midtown, and came off the train in the lobby... More

A skyscraper of Art Deco architecture, the steel and brick building still stands as one of the tallest and surely one of the most beautiful in the world.

While in New York, we observed from the ESB & Top of the Rock and during sunset cruise, the un-missible Chrysler Building, an Art Deco-style skyscraper located on the East Side of Midtown Manhattan in New York City. Known to be the tallest brick building in the world, albeit with a steel frame, there is however no provision for tourists... More

Seeing is believing. This attraction and slice of history is amazing. The view is unbelievable. We saw the Chrysler building through a tour and up close and personal. It is unimaginable how this was made and how gifted this family was to share in such an awesome attraction. A must see if you go to NY. Take lots of pictures.

Anyone who knows anything about New York will instantly recognise the Chrysler Building. Although the Empire State Building is taller, the Art Deco-style Chrysler Building is far more beautiful. This attractive skyscraper inn Midtown Manhattan has stood the test of time. The builder was Walter P Chrysler, proprietor of the car company, who personally owned the building.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
