Luckily, we booked this tour with the New York Pass. The description of this Attractions via the Ney York Pass Landing page says: "As you explore the historic catacombs, you'll get a glimpse of the underground tunnels and passageways of New York City."

This is not true and absolut misleading. You definitely do not get any impression of any underground tunnels of NYC. The only thing you will see about catacombs is a crypt with some graves at the very end of the tour. That is it and nothing more.
The rest of the tour is filled with very detailed but interesting information about the cathedral itself and the history of NYC. Many thanks to Dan who did a very good job and explained all the historical details in a great entertaining way.

Don't lose your time or money with this...

Guide reads his notices, and these are not catacombs... Burials and marble that's it.

Do something else ! Believe me.

I really don't understand the good advices.

Maybe people who never go out...

We had a great time doing the catacombs tour last week, our tour guide was Mike, he kept it really light and fun while being interesting. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting new York for something a little different, it's a bit spooky but fine for kids the candles are a great touch, we loved it and would definitely go again.

Ps. We found out for Mike, Bishop John Hughes was from a town called Augher (pronounced awher) just up the road from us in Tyrone

Thanks
Amy

My kids (ages 9 and 11) LOVED it! When we booked, I had no idea what to expect. But it was truly amazing! Our guide was very knowledgeable and was more than happy to explain things further to help littler minds understand. Seeing the catacombs was a surreal experience. While it wasn't like the ones photographed in history books (Paris and Rome for instance) it was still a really neat experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for something unique to fill your time.

This was a great minimal walking tour. You will learn about cemeteries, graveyards, churches, cathedrals and basilicas.

So, this little tour was a bit different than expected. The catacombs themselves aren't that big/extensive. But the tour itself was really good, the guide was excellent at keeping it interesting whilst also still sharing information, insights and history.

We found this tour by accident and decided to give it a try, and had a fantastic time! We took a tour with Ronnie, who was very knowledgeable about both the church and the catacombs. We learned about the history of both this church and St. Patrick's Cathedral on Fifth Ave, as well as Five Points and the history of the Irish immigrants. We went at a leisurely pace so no one was left behind, and Ronnie used a combination of humor and patience to keep everyone entertained.
