Rights next to the Art Museum (on the left if you are facing the museum entry) and in from of the MET, inside the central park, you will find this statue of the e bears.
It might be a nice place to take a pic.

Just off 5th Avenue and 79th street and inside Central Park this group of bronze bears is a real draw for the kids who tend to climb all over them. Excellent to see and the detail in the bronze sculpture is very good.

Central Park has several fun statue arrangements that can be enjoyed by adults and children alike. Amongst these is the Group of Bears sculptures by Paul Manship located at the small playground at 79th street just south of the MET.
Here you see a friendly bear standing on its hind legs with paws up, flanked by two bears on all fours, each looking forward. The bears are on a small stepped platform, surrounded by a circle of seating beaches.
This is a fun and child-friendly statue arrangement, like the Alice and Wonderland and Hans Christian Anderson a few blocks south near the Conservatory. We have seen children climbing on and around each of these. This seems to be allowed and perhaps even encouraged, particularly with the Group of Bears which is a central feature of a small playground.

You can't miss this charming group of bears if you are entering the park from 79th Street or on your way north to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
And you shouldn't.
It's great fun to stop by for a few minutes, watch the kids looking at the Bears with wonder and playing in a nicely arranged
I like stopping by and sitting for a few minutes on a bench and remembering my childhood with great pleasure.
Try it. I think you'll like it.

As the other reviews have mentioned, the Group of Three Bears statue is situated in Central Park just near the children's playground at the 79th Street and Fifth Avenue entrance. However, the statue is also in The Met. It is a very cute statue, done by American Artist Paul Manship. Originally designed as a monument for the Bronx Zoo gates, the sculptor designed the bears on a life size model of bears from the Bronx Zoo. The version in the Met originally stood in the sculptor's property until purchased by some Met donors.

This is one of many statues that inhabit the park. Nothing too special. You can't miss it walking south of the Met.

Great place to take a pic. It's around the corner from Alice in Wonderland and one of the best statues to take a pic with. Bronze bears and there is a small playground next to the bears.

The statue entitled "Group of Bears" is located in Central Park just off Fifth Avenue and 79th street very close to the Southern end of the Met Museum. It is surrounded by a circular bench area very convenient for resting a while and viewing the artwork. It looks like children might find climbing on it irresistible.
