Very informative: great visitor center with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Easy walk from visitor center to ruins. Our National Parks are a treasure...Americans should be very proud of this part of the government anyway.

If you are interested in the history of the Southwestern U.S., archaeology, or just have an inquiring mind, you will probably find this small but very well done National Monument well worth your time. My wife and I are seniors, and we certainly did. The volunteer conducted guided tour we did was exceptional, the 20" film was excellent, and the... More

Was disappointed in my visit to CG ruins national monument. Not sure how much of this structure is original as red bricks can be seen in some areas of the foundation. Not exactly Mesa Verde or Canyon de Chelly, this is an underwhelming structure. The short video in the visitors center does add context as to how the original inhabitants... More

On our way to Tucson we stopped in at this historical monument. A well preserved Hohokamera farming village. Approximately 1 hour south of Phoenix off of I-10. We were lucky that owls were nesting on site and while the female was not seen, the male was close by. The short movie was appreciated to give us an insight into these... More

Plan to spend at least one hour and take the tour. The guides were very informative about the settlement and about the history of why the Indians chose to settle here and how they survived.

This is a place to visit a couple of times. We were here about four years ago. I forgot a lot of the history that is available to see here. The walk is easy to do as long as it is not 90F degrees out. Go on a cool day. Plan on spending a couple of hours here.

We were heading to Tucson from Wickenburg.....I looked at the map......and voila: we decided to take a break. A grand decision! We were just in time for the 11AM tour and it was a fine one given by a volunteer ranger. We were amazed that so many other people were there....everyone enjoying themselves. If you have ANY interest in the... More

Totally missed the entrance on first try but it was worth a second chance to see what remains of a once-flourishing village of the Ancestral People of the Sonoran Desert. Volunteer Park Ranger Dale Tully was a very informative tour guide through the site. The pre-produced video was well done and gave context to the mysteries the site proposes. Sorry... More

As we traveled from Phoenix south to Coolidge I was amazed at the agricultural fields in the valley and the Sonoran desert. We made a simple turn off the highway and easily saw the ruins in the distance. A picnic area on the right of the parking lot and a national park museum area (with small gift shop) were enjoyable.... We were visiting in Phoenix and heard about Casa Grande Ruins National Monument so decided to check it out for ourselves. It is about 60+ miles south of Phoenix on good quality roads. It is very interesting to see how the ancient people survived and lived in such a dry isolated area. It was well worth the drive. The staff... More
