So glad we went. It was worth taking the tour. If you haven't been you should go. You will not be disappointed.

Visited back in 2010, bought tickets as an anniversary gift. Right off the bat you must crawl 20ish feet. Had to fight my claustrophobia, if I left the cave then I would have ruined it for everyone else. And let me tell you... It was so worth it! Take a chance, it's pretty amazing.

When "Spider Cave" was first discovered, the first several feet of the cave was covered with cave spiders. Cave spiders are harmless. Bob Nymeyer in CARLSBAD, CAVES, AND A CAMERA has a chapter on Spider cave. In 1933 he entered the cave entrance and this is what he had to say, "What I had seen were spiders. Literally millions of... If you like walking around in the dark with a guide who may have the only flashlight, come on. Well worth your time.

Just went to Carlsbad Caverns. Something to note: the elevator is broken. It suffered damage a few months ago and they don't know when it will be fixed. Definitely check on this before you go. Without the elevator working, the only way into and out of the cavern is the Natural Entrance trail. This is doable if you are healthy... More

Spider cave is part of the Carlsbad Caverns National Park. It is a wild cave, which means you need to have your own light. Be prepared to crawl. The trip is guided by park rangers.

This tour was a BLAST! A lot of the reviews talk a lot about confined spaces, mud, dark, and crawling... all of which are parts of this adventure, but yes this is SPIDER cave, and there is no shortage of them! This was one of the best parts of this hike, Spiders, hundreds and hundreds of them as well as... More

It is a dirty, crawl and stoop cave tour. It is rather warm in spider cave, hence the air smells wonderful when you get outside. It is a solid 1/2 mile walk to and from the cave entrance over rocky and steep terrain. Not the most impressive cave you'll ever see, but worth the trip once.

Book this tour early since there are only 8 spots once a week. This tour is for the adventurous spirit who is not claustrophobic, and the tour guides are experienced cavers who are very knowledgeable. It was good that this was the last tour we did, as it was tiring and we were ready for some ice cream at kaleidoscoops... More

All of it was just incredible! We did the King's tour and explored on our own as well and it was just amazing. If you have the time, and the physical capacity because it's about a mile or so hike downhill, you should definitely enter the caverns through the natural entrance. No words can describe the experience we had there.
