'Relaxing ride with great tour guide

Due to some native fish found in this river (and illegal to catch) - the river is kept extremely clean. The area of the boat ride is shallow so you can see down into the water and it is simply beautiful! The boat ride was near 2 hours and so relaxing; looking at the beautiful homes along the way and... The boat was smaller than I imagined but more than enough space for our family of 3 and another family of 4. The weather was perfect. The ride was relaxing. Gerald, the tour guide, was enthusiastic, well- informed, and funny. It was nice to learn about Carlsbad in that nice, refreshing setting.

Before going I had seen the pretty blue and which pontoon boat advertised. When we got there we were informed that a smaller boat would be ok? We said yes. It was a small pontoon boat with no overhead awning or shade. It was also really dirty. The captain was a college aged kid. He was nice and fun, not... More

Originally we wanted to take the boat tour--- times posted online are 1,3,5,7. This is incorrect. Right now they are only doing a 5:00pm tour. We were not able to wait, so instead we rented a pedal boat! This was so much fun and inexpensive. Kids loved it! They provide life jackets for the kids. Don't forget your sunscreen!!!!

Thank you for your review, unfortunately you visited on a day when our boat tours were limited to one time slot, due to our boat captain being out for the day. We do run daily tours at 1:30, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm through the summer, but you can feel free to call and check prior to visiting. No reservations are... More

The times did not match up to the times on their website. Would recommend call first if you are on a timed schedule. The captain of the boat drove well. Got to see some awesome houses!

We took an evening boat ride for the Christmas on the Pecos tour. My 4 year old enjoyed all of the pretty lights. It was amusing that several yards were advertisements for corporations, and a few others were paid for by other companies, but it was still worth it. Remember, it will feel colder on the water due to the... More

We took the evening river cruise and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. The boat captain was very informative and had a great wit. He shared history of the river, talked about several of the beautiful homes we passed, pointed out giant tortoises in one family's yard, and told us about several families who live along the river. We hope to return... More
