Went to see A Christmas Carol this year. You won't find a better, more professional performance or venue anywhere in North Carolina - no matter the size of the city. It's no wonder this place is the official State Playhouse of NC. And if you have to drive down to catch a show, what a drive through the hills!

A Christmas Carol was an absolute wonderful performance. Taking pictures isn't allowed but the leaves for enjoying the performance rather than distraction.

We had tickets for the opening night performance at the Flat Rock. It was "A Christmas Carol". There was a nice crowd. The performance as nicely done. Well worth the price. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. Also, it is a very comfortable small playhouse with a homey feel.

Love FRPH! Great family fun and the performances are always wow! All seats are great seats. Concessions served as well.

We saw A Christmas Carol this year and really loved it. Good music and acting in a quaint old community theatre. Would definitely attend another play here.

The Flat Rock Playhouse is a great place for entertainment on a date night. Just saw the current play of a Christmas Carol and it was an excellent adaptation of the original story. The actors and actresses were able to take you into the story and capture the essence of the spirit of Christmas. If you have never been to... More

If Dickens isn't normally "your thing," there's more than enough good humor, beauty and joy in this adaptation to delight and amaze you. And if musicals aren't normally "your thing," you'll be pleased to find that the characters don't burst into spontaneous song ... but instead, use the subtle melodies as vehicles to keep the story-line moving along smoothly. Guests might want to read the history of the Playhouse online. Check with Box Office management in advance re promotions available through local businesses. These do not seem to be well-advertised. Did not like pre-show laundry list of marketing ideas (for cruise, etc). Would have appreciated more info/highlights regarding the history of the Playhouse through to present. We enjoyed A... More

The show was very enjoyable. Cast was both professional and local amateurs. Very well done. Bought seats late in the day so we were in row 16 and the stage was still very visible and the sound excellent.

My husband and I really enjoyed this wonderful production of 9 to 5. Changing venues often...different offices, police station, workplace kitchen, outdoor areas, etc. were very cleverly and quickly done as part of the show. And with a cast and ensemble of over 30 characters, all was extremely well done.
