I reside in the area and frequently visit the Dare County Art Council exhibits. Local artist are members of the council and display their artwork at the center. You can view and sometimes purchase, paintings, pottery, jewelry and other mediums.

Mostly local Art, but seems to be a very creative area. We really love how the building was once a courthouse. Nice way to spend a hour or two.

The staff at the Arts council are so dedicated to the Arts and so respectful and appreciative of the contributing artists. The various events that they put on throughout the year are professionally done with lots of love and good feelings.

This place is amazing !!! There's enough quality art in this building to spend hours and hours enjoying it's beauty. It so happens there was an artist reception here today and tonight being the First Friday of the Month. This arts council is located in the old courthouse building, and they have made wonderful use of the space. There is lots of quality art work -- not just ordinary "beachy" pieces. Definitely worth a visit.

Friendly staff and quaint town. We found this gallery disappointing though. What is there can be seen very quickly. The building has a musty odor, it's old. We found much better quality art and galleries on the beach where we were staying.

The Arts concil provides a great space for local artists to display works in many differnet media. They are a great asset to our community and supportive of as many different artistic outlets as they can handle!

This is a wonderful place for local art in a wide price range . They have everything from greeting cards, inexpensive handcrafted jewelry, to large paintings. I love their FIRST FRIDAY CELEBTATIONS!

I don't want to spoil the surprise but plan to visit with 5.00 for a special treat. The gallery is small but very quaint. The staff is friendly and the art is wonderful. They have a mix of mediums from painting, jewelry, knitted items, paper ache sculptures that you have to see to believe. There is a monthly revolving exhibit... More
