The best way to view the magnificent beauty of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Seating up to two passengers in front of our pilot, our open cockpit aircraft is one of the original WWII trainer biplanes built by WACO. Flying in this vintage aircraft is truly an unforgettable experience!

Andy our pilot made riding in a twin engine open cock pit a blast! I was rather scared about doing it but he encouraged me without an over sale - and I was so glad I did. One more bucket list accomplished! I would do it again in a minute - took to the longer ride - could see more... More

I had never been on a plane before, commercial or otherwise. For my 1st time flying I decided this was the plane for me. Old Red is a beautiful plane that was used in 1942 to help WWII pilots practice before going to war. I was completely at ease as we took off and the trip was AMAZING! I recommend... More

To truly appreciate the natural beauty of the Outer Banks take an open cockpit low and slow biplane flight with Mr. Andy Rosman in his 1942 Waco. Get the birds eye view. Invest in the longer journey for the best value. It is worth every penny for an incredible experience. Most highly recommended activity!!

Flying in a biplane is something I've always wanted to do, so when I saw the red plane fly over, I had to find out more. What an amazing experience, not only to fly but to do it right over Wright brothers Memorial. The only thing I would have changed, was to go up for longer.

Andy and the Staff at Barrier Island Aviation were friendly. The ride in the Biplane was a little rough while we were up there, but the sights were breathtaking. We only did the 20 minute ride. It seemed a little short, but I was more focused on seeing everything. The landing was awesome and the way that Andy parked us... More

Andy is a terrific pilot. Wife wanted an open cockpit biplane ride for her birthday and I've always wanted to ride in a WWII warbird. We got both with Andy in his 1942 Waco UPF-7. He did a great job telling us what we were flying around, circling dolphins and a shipwreck. The ride in this plane is smooth as... More

We took the Cessna 206 so that our family of 4 cold fly together. The day was perfect; mother nature was happy, the water was clear and Andy made the trip over the top. Having a wonderful tour guide makes or breaks the experience and Andy definitely made the experience amazing. If we ever visit the Banks again, we will... More

My husband and I did something we were both a bit wary of. We took a ride in a Bi Plane at the Barrier Island Aviation in Manteo, NC! It was amazing! :) The young lady at the desk was very friendly and welcoming when we entered. She inquired what we were interested in and we told her and got... More

Nice addition to our Outer Banks vacation trip. Nothings beats the sound of an old radial engine! Flight was great, saw many of the Outer Banks sights. A bit of a windy day on the ground but remarkably smooth once aloft. A great experience to ride in a vintage Waco biplane.

What better than to celebrate the Wright Brothers memorial by flying over it in an historic biplane. A truly amazing experience. The staff and pilot are very friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault it. Alan & Sue (England)
