Great exhibits and 17-minute movie that compresses the history into something everyone can digest and think about on the drive home. The large park area in which it sits is very nice and peaceful (in November). This is a great stop!

Blue Water Grill and Raw Bar is our favorite place to eat before the show. It is about a 15 minute drive on 64 E just before the bridge going over the Roanoke Sound on the left.

Has anyone seen the performance of the Lost Colony? Is it appropriate for kids? We have 3 girls about 7 years old. Planning to go in August. Also is the outdoor theater buggy and how long is the performance. Thanks.

20x to OBX and never saw the Lost Colony! (1 Replies)
So part of the joke of our group is that here is another year that we diverted Mom from dragging us to the Lost Colony. Honestly, I really want to go. Are there better nights to get tickets? We stay in Duck. How long will it take me to get there? Where should we go for dinner to be on time for the show?? I am almost scared to go now that it will be a jinx that we won't return next year!!

The Lost Colony is a must....once. The first time I ever saw it I was a child and really loved it (the outdoor theater, the indians, etc.). Now that I'm older, I've seen it probably a half dozen times and it seems longer each time when we take guests that come to town (nothing a preshow cocktail can't fix). From the Wright Bros. bridge to Manteo takes me a half hour, so you're looking at approx. the same give or take from Duck. For preshow dinner I have a couple recommendations: If money...More

Would a group of teens be bored with The Lost Colony? (5 Replies)
Two adults and four kids 20, 18, 15 & 15. The tickets are pricey, with the backstage tour & rain insurance (which I read is a must) we will be looking at >$200. If I spend that money and the kids seem bored I will not be happy. Input, please from people who have gone with teens. Thanks -
