The walk around the area was beautiful with outdoor history information and a side path to get a secluded beach. However, with COVID going on there were no tours nor Lost Colony show, understandably. I have a feeling if we were able to get a tour, we would’ve gotten more insight into the area. All that there was to see was an earthbound made very long ago that cannot be explained and a short trail through the pines. I wish there was more to see but I don’t blame that on anyone, hence the 4 stars.

The stage show is, as of now, still not operating, and the visitor center is closed. But the rangers are friendly and knowledgeable, and you can still get the stamps for your national park passports. The reconstruction of the fortification on the property is interesting, but perhaps could be a little further developed. I enjoyed the Underground Railroad marker; I can only assume there’s more detailed info in the visitor center. I enjoyed the nature trail, which was roughly 1/3 mile long.

We picked up a brochure and started walking...it was a nice shaded walk. The visitor center was closed due to the virus but still a nice place to go

I’m not sure what I was expecting, but if you visit off season like we did and don’t see the play? It’s an interesting though small museum and a short walk around the grounds. But the staff are knowledgeable and we learned a bit more about this mystery if history.

This was my Father in Law's call. I went with my two teenaged boys, wife and the Father in Law. I read about the history of the play and really expected a cheesy production. Some of the parts were, but it was overall very well done. A very good history lesson. My boys even liked. We have been looking into the history of the Lost Colony as a Family. Well done.
