We'd just arrived in the Outer Banks a few days ago and stopped at this Visitor's Center to collect some information - and our bearings! We had a great time talking to the individual on hand who was a fount of information, and we also got to use the bathroom which was very clean. A great place to stop anytime... More

This is a must stop for everyone choosing The Outer Banks! There is a wealth of information on hand, and the attentive staff on hand can make recommendations for local restaurants, and attractions. Fay gave us a map of the island as well as a State Map (upon request) and a wealth of helpful information! This is a pet friendly... More

This place had a wealth of books, brochures, maps, pamphlets, you name it... all free. Everything Outer Banks at your fingertips. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Also had some souvenirs for sale, but nothing to write home about.

This is a great place to stop to pick up some information to plan your week or just to stretch your legs. The are a couple different paths that take you down around the sound area. There are a few rocking chairs to sit in for the few minutes that you are allowed to rest.

We stopped here to meet our kayak tour. It has a picnic area, clean restrooms, a great information center. Best of all, it has a boardwalk nature walk. It runs beside the bridge and out into the sound. We counted 5 ospey. Parents were teaching their young the art of flying. There is also an old cemetary, but I didn't... More

Alth.ough this is our third trip to Manteo, we had never stopped at this center. We recommend you do it on your first trip. The area is maintained beautifully and we enjoyed taking the boardwalk to the water. The inside of the visitor center is very well stocked with information on the area and the gentleman we spoke to is... More

I come to this area often but the information I get here always teaches me something new and somewhere to go. Well worth the time spent there. Nice people in a very nice facility.
