We took the 9:30 Friday morning historical tour of Wellfleet led by Barbara Kennedy. The guide shared some highlights of the museum before guiding us through the village. Along the way, she shared interesting stories about its history and architecture. The tour was a highlight of our trip and I am so glad that we didn't miss it.

This little house and museum are full of interesting information about the history of Wellfleet. I really enjoyed stopping here while on a walk around Wellfleet's Main Street. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. I love that they have walking tours of Wellfleet and a Bound Brook Island hike. I hope to join one of those on my next... More

If you frequent Wellfleet, this is a great place to learn about the early history of Billingsgate, including when there was a train that went to the harbor and when there was a resort hotel that was on the bayside of town.

The society has so much to offer with so many dedicated volunteers trying to preserve and present the best of Wellfleet's history. I would recommend that everyone visit the museum, the annex and JOIN and volunteer!!

I'd been going to Wellfleet for many years before I finally visited the Wellfleet Historical Society's Museum on Main Street. It's a small place, run by volunteers, with an assortment of interesting local objects from their collection. It was a quick diversion for my family while wandering around downtown Wellfleet but it was worth the stop.
