the play's the thing! especially at W.H.A.T. ~~ spring and summer have a wonderful line up. some plays are most definitely for adults. All have value, most are witty and creatively constructed. plus the theater shows the MET opera, HD simulcast. and other specialty movies. I go often.

We just love the WHAT! They put on a wide variety of shows including a WHAT for kids series that will make the little ones very happy while exposing them to the live theater. On the main stage they put forward some cutting edge theater as well as some of the classics. The actors are first rate and the overall... More

WHAT is Always a great place to enjoy live theater of high quality in a comfortable, intimate venue. Well worth the time and ticket price.

Went to see Moby Dick here last summer. Despite the high prices of the tickets, I was looking forward to seeing this performance. I was impressed with the new building and interior. It was a very hot and humid day, and I asked the girl at the ticket desk if they had A/C inside at the performance, and she assured... More

My wife and I enjoy collecting the caterpillars of the Monarch butterflies and releasing the Monarch's when they emerge from their chrysalis. So we were very excited to see that there would be a movie presented at the WHAT about the professor and his team who discovered where the Monarch's winter over in Mexico. The movie was great and the... More

I saw Period of Adjustment here. Michael Unger is a superb director. The set was professional and well-made. James Ludwig and Ali Ewoldt really steal the show. The exception is Alyssa H. Chase, who comes in last in this otherwise set of great actors. She was the weak link, and luckily for the Wellfleet audience, had the least stage time,... More

This is probably one of the nicest small theaters on Cape Cod for plays and concerts. They have a very comfortable auditorium open year-round indoors, and an outside tent for summer kids shows (currently the Fool of the World and the Flying Ship). They carry many of the Live at the Met productions in the off-season which is great for... More

We just saw the play about Billie Holiday, Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The actress was incredible, her singing so very Billie, and her storytelling 100% engaging. Three generations went from my family tonight - my in-laws, my husband and I, and our teenagers, and it was an education for us... More

Great theatre. Great night. Worth going. Make sure you check the calendar before your trip to the cape and get your tickets early. The theatre company is wonderful and it's a great evening!

Like other Cape Cod towns, Wellfleet has been actively involved in summer theatre production for a number of years under the leadership of WHAT at the Harbor Theatre. The addition of the Julie Harris Stage in 2007 on Route 6 has allowed for an expanded selection of plays and musical performances. This stage with 200+ seating capacity is a well... More
