Great for toddlers -grass, beach and a playground
Jun 2018 • Family
We visited a few times in June 2018 with a couple of toddlers during our visit to San Diego. The park area and nearby beach/sand shores were filled with families.

It was a 3 minute walk from our condo at Fanuel and Pacific Beach Drive!

The park has a bit of grass, along with the play structure which has sand flooring. It’s suitable for toddlers and kids up to ~7 to 8 years. There are a couple of slides and some swings-both open seat and toddler safety swings. The play structure is physically separated from the beach area and water- which is 20 steps away. The park is on the bay side, so it’s calm water as opposed to the beach which faces the pacific (and has surfing).

A great place to give your kids the option of beach or playground.

There are outdoor showers and individual bathrooms, which are relatively clean. And yes, a few homeless frequented the park and bathroom facilities in the days we visited, but there were no negative interactions.

The park leads to the concrete walkway which extends along the beach out west towards the homes and resorts.

There are a few Bird scooters parked nearby, so you can grab one and go for a ride once you activate it on your cell.

What a neat park
Jun 2017
We went so that my wife could do Paddle board Yoga and I got to explore the part! Such a cool place. Kids play equipment, lots of bathrooms, well kept and a sidewalk all around the beach. I explored while my wife did her thing and stumbled on a hotel that sets up chairs on the beach and says that anyone may use them for free. Take some time and enjoy!

I love this little park!

A great place to come and people-watch, exercise, or just play. There's a small grassy area where leashed-dogs are allowed, a few swings and volleyball net close by. It's on Mission Bay so a bike, walking path allow you to check out the people/area as you cruise by. It's fun to look at the high-rent homes/vacation rentals along the path. Catamaran Inn is about midway around the circle, where you can get a bite to eat, or get a massage, mani/pedi. I plan on going once a month.

An ideal little park for young children to play on playground equipment or on the nearby beach. Idealistic area with calm waters due to Mission Bay. Wonderful area.

Fun for the family
Jun 2016 • Family
My family of 5 stayed bayside for 4 nights. Although we loved a day visit to the beach oceanside, there is a lot of rif raf that comes with it in my opinion. The beaches also were not combed of seaweed etc. We appreciated being on the bay here at Fanuel St., where the kids could play in the sand, enjoy the park and restrooms nearby, volleyball on the beach and our older kids could use the boardwalk for a bicke ride etc. all very close to PB or MB. To put into perspective its a bout a 3 minute walk to Catamaran Resort. Skip Pacific beach or Mission Beach for a family day, visit here. You won't have the waves but its a great spot to picnic and enjoy a day. Its a hidden surprise.

Fanuel Beach Park

Fanuel Beach Park is located on the serene Mission Bay walking path. Picnic tables, a playground for the kids, soft white sand and plenty of green grass to lay and relax.
