Best surf rentals ever! Randy and his team (Chad and Robby) took such incredible care of me during my last visit to San Diego. I didn't want to travel with my boards and took the risk to try some rentals which rarely ends up being a good prospect. They had the best selection that I have ever seen during surf travel. I rented a Gary Linden shape that they recommended and it was absolutely perfect. They also had tons of Rusty shapes as well as many other reputable brands. If you're a beginner, I can't imagine better people to learn from. Thanks so much guys, I will definitely see you next trip. Really enjoyed talking surfing with you, didn't want to leave!

Ian took me out and had me up and riding in no time. Everybody in the shop is super friendly and enthusiastic and really wants first time surfers to have a great experience. Had a blast!

Professional, approachable, and courteous. Adam made us feel like he was part of our family when we started our lesson. He captured the kids (8 & 9yo) attention immediately and went over the basics of safety for our boards before diving into the lesson. Also extra kudos for keeping his cool after one other instructor took the board that he laid out for us. Would definitely come back again either during this trip or next if we continue learning how to surf. PB Mgmt, Adam is top shelf material. Job well done!

Surfing the internet I found PB Surf Shop and School. Walking into the shop I knew this is the place to get surfing lessons! What a team - friendly customer services, all smiles, decades of surfing know-how, great selection of equipment to buy or rent. The PB Surf team offers a variety of surfing lessons (one-to-one, couples or groups). The location is perfect for beginners and it's only a short walk to the pacific ocean. My instructor gave me the perfect advice and practice on how to get on the board. 60 minutes into the lesson I caught my first (white-wash) wave actually standing on the (soft) board. I would highly recommend trying to surf for the first time or as a refresher with the help of this team! Surf's up!!!

Would not go to any other Surf shop after dealing with Randy and his amazing team. We needed to hire wetsuits and boards and they couldn’t help us enough and made me and my wife feel like old friends. No doubt at all that we’ll be back again soon. Graham and Lynda (from the UK) Extra facts for visiting.... Parking is easy behind the shop on Mission Blvd (use Google maps to check the location 1st) - take a Credit Card to pay the parking (or use the parking App with Apple Pay etc.). Take lots of Sunscreen (of course) especially if you want to go for a drink afterwards, most places have no shade. There are (unlocked) units to store your stuff and changing rooms to get ready. Take few valuables but if you need to, then if you ask nicely they should be able to keep them in a safe for you. "Let the fun begin"!!!
