We went on a private tour with seven family members who were in town for a wedding. Phil was our guide and took care of every detail so that we could relax and have a fantastic time together. We visited three wineries and also stopped at another beautiful location for a delicious tapas lunch. All the wines we tasted were excellent. Phil has personal relationships and local knowledge, so you really feel like you are getting a special experience. The door-to-door service by private van was great to eliminate worries about driving. We felt 100% safe on this tour. Our passage back across the border was fast, but of course living in San Diego we know that varies day to day depending on conditions at the border. We highly recommend this tour and plan to book another one with family members who couldn't make it this time. I would also like to compliment this company on their professional communication and responsiveness on email, which made me feel comfortable and confident during the booking process.

This was one of the coolest tours, we thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. From the luxury tour bus that picked us up at our hotel, comfortable seating with amenities such as outlets, and bathroom on board, to the sweet driver who was very able and careful as he navigated the mountain roads and the tour guide (owner of the company actually) who instantly became one with our party in hearing our needs and requests and making them happen along the way seamlessly. We had a few changes from headcount to returning in time for dinner reservations etc. and he adjusted accordingly with no problems. Bottom line, you will be in excellent and trusted hands.
As far as the tour itself: Fantastic, nothing we've ever experienced before. The scenery along the way makes the drive worth it (longer than we'd anticipated, but we didn't mind because it was breathtaking and comfortable). The dairy farm was an in depth tour of their property and history / process of cheese-making from start to finish. (Don't wear your favorite white shoes ;)
Down to the caves, not something you'd be able to experience in most places that closely. The actual cheese tasting was paired with a glass of wine, and the cheeses were delicious and obviously so fresh. There were a couple additional surprises that I won't spoil for you but let's say you get the tastings you're promised and then some, so it's definitely more than worth it! We spent time on the property (several beautiful photo ops), and then enjoyed a delicious lunch also offered with wine).
I would recommend making clear any time constraints and tour priorities you have from the get-go, as we ended up spending too much time at the farm, and needing to get back to San Diego for a dinner res we had to skip out on the additional winery stops. Personally I wanted to hit all of the originally planned wine stops, but that wasn't feasible after the bonus stops for (spectacular) photo ops and (incredible) local treats our group opted to enjoy along the way. I was slightly disappointed at missing out on the planned winery stops, but that was not at all the fault of the tour company. If anything, I now want to plan to make another trip down specifically to tour more of Mexican wine country because I was surprised by how delicious their wine is!)
Overall, highly recommend. Some things to note: I was initially nervous about border crossing and safety of driving into and around Mexico, all for absolutely no reason. It was all flawless, and I felt completely safe through the whole experience and passage. They are honest about the crossing being unpredictable: it only took a few minutes with zero people in line at 10am on a Friday morning, however took much longer on the return at 7pm on a Friday. Be mindful, respectful, responsible, (not belligerent or flashy), and you have nothing to be worried about. Jesus, Joaquin, and the Baja Winery Tours have got your back and have you covered! Go enjoy this incredible experience of a lifetime!

We had a group of 8 (4 couples). We booked Baja Winery Tours for a one day tour plus transportation from the border and back.
The tour was good, they always showed up on time, and their prices were better than the other companies we checked.
During the trip, there were a few times we requested additional transportation on short notice. They were very accommodating.
All in all, good experience. Highly recommended.

Baja Winery Tours Was an amazing door to door service and such a great treat after the last year.
They picked us up at our doorstep, drove us across the border to the Mexican wine country for two wine tastings, a mezcal tasting and a coursed lunch with wine paring and then drove us right back to our doorstep. They picked beautiful locations, with a good variety of wine and a delicious and vibrant lunch. Dan and Joaquin were so fun and friendly and did a great job keeping all 20 of us on time all while ensuring we had the best day. We will look forward to many more day and overnight trips with Baja Winery Tours!!!

This wine tour was a hugely enjoyable day out from San Diego to Baja for our group of 5 friends. Joaquin was entertaining and helpful - he even kindly changed up one of the wineries on the day when we explained what sort of wine our group members enjoyed. The trip down the coast and across to the Valle de Guadalupe was an eye opener to the beautiful & varied aspects of the area and each of the wineries was unique and memorable. Great friendly service and wines at Vina de Liceaga, Chateau Camou, Cava Maciel. The food at Finca Altozana was fresh and incredible - let Joachim order for you!
Thanks again to Baja Winery Tours & the places we visited.

Our experience with Baja Winery Tours, and Joaquin especially, was one for the books. I am SO thankful to have found this company to pick us up from the border and show us the best time in Valle de Guadalupe. I can't recommend their services enough!
The shuttle was so nice (very clean), great sound system for a bachelorette weekend, and the driver Abel was very kind and professional. The most important detail is that I was able to book with them less than 24 hours in advance because our other shuttle company fell through the day before we were supposed to leave on our trip.
What a blessing in disguise because Joaquin showed us an incredible time in the Valley - he knows EVERYONE and got us into the best places when another reservation fell through. He also made us feel very safe and welcome throughout the trip. He went above and beyond by escorting us across the border and giving us an authentic experience we couldn't have had without him. I can't wait to go back to the valley and book Baja Winery Tours - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

We booked a private day trip with BWT from San Diego and they were so great! Phil was our guide and was the best! He was super knowledgeable about Mexico, the valley and the wines, and he was super fun and friendly. He took us to 3 beautiful spots, the food was incredible and the wine was fabulous. We felt 100% safe too! We will definitely be booking another trip with them. Highly recommend!

Excellent company 👌 not my first time. I got to experience a private tour before and it was perfect. This time it was as a group for a special event in Tahona Baja and again no disappointments. Friendly, courtesy, professional, on time. No hiccups. Has a blast, met a lot of cool people. Our driver was great Brought us back, safely and on time. I will do this again in a heart beat.

The whole experience with Baja Winery Tours was great. Booking was easy. Gaspar was our diver, and a very experienced one! We had the bus for 2 days and they arrived even before the set time. Everything was smooth and easy, with great customer service!

Hello, my name is William and I was wondering is you are running tours into the valle de Guadalupe the week of March 27 to April 3. If you are not, can you tell me who is? I’m from Chicago and I will be in the San Diego area during this time period, I deeply appreciate any help you can give me. Because of COVID it seems like no one is doing this tour.

Do you offer overnight trips to Valle, I would like to spend the night at one Valle's new hotels.
Written October 18, 2019
Yea we do offer overnight trips. We can help advise you on hotels or your free to choose on your own. We will then schedule your itinerary around your stay! Look forward to hearing from you.

Only the wine tastings at the wineries are included. During lunch you must pay for alcoholic beverages separately.
Written April 4, 2018
How much is the tour cost? Do we get a free meal after?
Written August 28, 2017
Hi. The cost of a group tour to Valle de Guadalupe for wine tasting is $189.00 US per person. Lunch is included.
Written August 29, 2017
What is the cost of the tour during the week?
Written May 24, 2015
Hi LJR54,
Sorry for the delayed response it has been a busy holiday weekend for us.
The cost for the tour is $189 per person.
The price includes private transportation, local tour guide, tastings at three celebrated wineries and a gourmet lunch at one of Baja's most exclusive restaurants.
For a private tour we need a minimum of 6 people, otherwise we have group tours every weekend.
We would need payment 3 days in advance to secure reservations and make arrangements.
Best regards,
Joaquin
