Came on hip-hop night....so much fun! Male and female go-go dancers, videos on a large screen hanging over the dance floor and an awesome late night taco truck posted up outside. Fun venue to visit on our first trip to SD from Portland!

Wanted to go dancing at a club in San Diego so went there for my birthday, all different ages which is good for a gay and lesbian bar. Music was pumping and the drinks were strong and delicious. The bathrooms kept clean, there is even a lady that squirts soap on your hand when you come out of the stall and hands you paper towels after you are done washing them. Was crowded, but not where you can't breathe. Live entertainment was really good. An eclectic environment when it comes to music, people and lifestyles. Will definitely go back again

Old school, with a new school twist. Good time, good drinks, great music, but watch out for the sleazy bouncers! Mami

I have never been to the Brass rail until recently. I and some friends went on a thursday evening.. We are fairly new to San Diego not knowing we were in infamous Hillcrest! We were actually across the street at Rite-aid walking across the street to Starbucks and heard the best 90s Hip Hop!! We decided to go in and it was great!! The person at the front door was very nice and the bartenders were awesome!! You have to try the Dirty Shirlies!! The Djs that were spinning that evening were DJ Syko and Sweet Chuck (I saw their names on the flyers) HOLY MOLY!!! They were totally awesome. They had no problems playing requests!! (we had many). I could definitely see myself going there quite often. Whether you are straight or Gay, this is a great venue to check out and check out again if you haven't in a while!!

If you are looking for a gay night spot this is one of the oldest and most known. Not sure it is a "must see".
