The bar staff is very friendly and helpful. Also, kitchen is open late, so you can still get food with your beer. Most breweries in San Diego don't have food, and if they do, it's a food truck that only has a few offerings. Monkey Paw has full kitchen. Awesome fries! My husband and I shared a flight. Try their... More

It's a bar in an area being gentrified. Ok bar food and good beer. If you like the homeless and are thirsty then this is your spot. Bartenders are cool.

Friendly service with a large beer variety. The beer was Ok ( no more than 3 1/2 out of 5 to rate it) flights are 2.00 per glass for 4...8.00. They have their own beer and other local taps. They serve food with a full bar menu most items between 10 to 15.00.

Si we went in on a Tuesday - it's a bar after all - was pretty noisy since they play cock and bull but all in all a great selection of IPAs and beer and good bar food - friendly service and after all they played good music

I found this brewery/pub on a thrillist list while web surfing. The cheese steaks were by far the best I've had out side of Philly. The pickleweise beer is also a must try for those pickle juice lovers out there. Have them mix it with bloody mary mix for treat!

When I visit San Diego I enjoy going to Monkey Paw. It is what I call the best joint in San Diego. They have about 25 different craft beers on draft and even more in a bottle. I love the cheese steaks and they recently added a buffalo cheese steak which is really good - I can't wait to go... More

I knew when I walked up to the place the building was old. And that is one of the reasons I liked it. The marquee sign has been there for years so I'm glad they kept it and just added their signage. Loved the way the widows were just shutter doors that open wide to the sunshine especially since we... More

My girlfriend and I meet here for lunch. We both walked, me from the convention center and she came from Little Italy and had no problems. Once inside the ambience was very relaxed and the bartender was Kevin. We stuck with beers from Monkey Paw and I rated everyone of them on untappd at a 4 or better (I'm pretty... More

A real revelation since my last visit to the West coast were the excellent craft beers throughout the region. This place was highly recommended, and is definitely worth a visit. Bar staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and we had a great evening sampling their vast array of excellent beers.
