While visiting Point Loma Lighthouse we passed this cemetery. It was beautiful and such a humbling experience. I did not realize it existed but I am so glad to have seen it.

This gorgeous military cemetery is worth an hour or so walking. Medal of Honor winners have special plaques that explain their heroism. This place instills a sense of gratitude for all these servicemen and their wives (who are often buried near their husbands).

One of the true gems. Overlooking the bay and the Pacific. All those who served remembered not often enough.

Seeing the tombstones arranged in military formation, with the surrounding scenery of Point Loma is quite impressive. There are burials from World War II, and from Medal of Honor recipients.

This is my grandmothers resting place. We really appreciate the fact that it is close to town yet still removed from the hustle and bustle of the city

This is on the drive up to Cabrillo monument. Very serene and views of the ocean. We didn't stop, only drove through.

Beautifully maintained National Cemetery. Please take a moment to pause, say a prayer, or just give a moment of silence for the men buried here who gave the ultimate sacrifice in protecting America and our freedoms!!

We spent a couple hours at this cemetery. Beautifully maintained and offering amazing views. We walked, read headstones and then drove the roads. What a great tribute to our veterans and their families. My husband is a veteran and was truly moved by the sites.

As you approach the site you realize how large it is. Interesting and appropriate setting. Truly sobering experience.

Large military cemeteries tend to be very emotional places. Such is the case with Fort Rosecrans Cemetery. Lines and lines of white gravestones. Women and men who have died in or after service to all the rest of us. Wow. I appreciate how easy it was to view the cemetery. And what a spectacular place to have gravestones facing the... More
